Roy Williams says he's "pissed off" at Sam Hurd
Roy Williams found it difficult to digest the news regarding close friend and fellow Bears receiver Sam Hurd, who was arrested Wednesday night and subsequently charged with one count of conspiring to possess haalf a kilogram of cocaine with intent to distribute according to Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune.
"This is just very shocking to me,'' Williams said Thursday. "And I'm kind of pissed off at him, too, because it's a really selfish act. He has let us down in the wide receiver group, in which we were so close. He let down the wide receivers coach, the head coach, the Bears organization and the city. But that's my boy, too.''
Williams, who expressed sympathy for Hurd's wife and daughter, was asked what he might say if Hurd decided to reach out.
"Nothing,'' Williams said. "He's a grown man. It's not like he's 12. He knew what he was doing and what he was getting himself into. There's nothing I can say.''

Roy's kind of a douche, but that is still the closest thing I've heard to an appropriate response to this situation. Forget all the "I hate to see something happen to a nice guy like this" crap. It didn't happen to him. He did it to himself. That nice guy has been contributing to the destruction of lives for who knows how long. He may be a nice guy, but that doesn't make him any less guilty of being a scumbag.

All this nice guy talk reminds me of neighbors talking about the killer next door "oh but he was so nice".

Good for Roy. He knew him in Dallas, I have no doubt he knew him here. It's a damn shame no one else spoke this strongly.

It doesnt surprise me that he'd drop a dime on him like that, seeing as he drops everything else, but i think this is the most appropriate response to this situation. Saying nothing is okay, but it IS nice to hear about one player saying of a teammate that did something like this calling him what he is....

Ever wonder how good of a WR Hurd could have been if he put as much work into his NFL career as setting up this?
