NOW you can't start the "Fire Angelo" chants
Martz, Angelo, Hanie. They all need to be on the last train to Clarkesville immediately. Now that I feel the Bears playoff chances are done (the Lions winning was pretty much a deathblow), we can start building for next year.
Extend Khalil Bell and Matt Forte, get rid of Barber. Get rid of all of our backup QBs and actually bring in a proven veteran. Donovan McNabb is an excellent option.
Bring in an offensive coordinator that can actually MAKE ADJUSTMENTS DURING THE GAME. One that doesn't have to have a disasterous game (or two...or three) to finally realize his offensive game-plan isn't working. One that never even heard of a 7 step drop and HAS heard of The Shotgun. One that realizes that protecting your QB is priority one. One that realizes that The BEST RECEIVER ON THE TEAM should be starting (seriously, does any team you've ever heard of do that?)
To tell you the truth, as much as I admire Lovie Smith and as much as an earthquake it would cause in the the locker room, I wouldn't mind seeing him go either. No, none of this is his fault. Well, his failure to fire Martz this season is his fault, but I'm talking about the Cutler injury. The Bears were a legit Super Bowl contender before Cutler got hurt. But Lovie had his time. He seems to have trouble doing what has to be done. He should've gotten rid of Martz earlier in the season. I'd just like to see what a Jeff Fisher or Bill Cowher can do with this team while Urlacher, Briggs and Peppers still have some gas in the tank.
But mostly just get rid of Martz, Angelo and the godawful Hanie. That kid should be deactivated for the rest of this season. He's AWFUL.

How can you get rid of the GM and coaching staff that created the most complete team in the NFL? These guys are NFL sevants.
all kidding aside, this goes 100% on the F/O and there lack of scouting/talent building. Hou is a perfect example of what can happen; they've had there 1st and 2nd qb go down, there 1st rb missed mulitple games, they have one of the best wr's in the game go out for mutliple games, and they lost one of the best D players in the league go out for the year..and they are still in the playoffs. GB, while not losing KEY players last year(rodgers bj raji ect) they still had what 10+ guys in IR? and they won the SB.
We lose our QB(huge) and starting RB(huge) and then cannot win a game against teams that are very beatable if you have adaquate backups and talent around them. But the OL is weak, and the WR's are weak and losing the qb and rb opened up the closet for the whole NFL to see the skeletons.
JA needs to go, as well as ruskell. If Martz is so football stupid that he doesn't understand that you need a readied backup(talking about not allowing Haine any snaps in practice) and he doesn't undertsand how to change his system to allow Haine to play to his strengths(little to no 5-7 step drops) then he needs shit canned too. And while we're at it, can that no good no talent non producing WR's coach Drake..who, anyone name one guy, that he has turned into any kind of legit NFL talent since he's been here. Tice can go w/them also, he's gotten a pass around here for too long. But fact is the only time his OL looks good is when the TE's and RB's stay in to help block on a 3-5 step drop...and that's only sometimes.
I have learned to respect Lovie a lot more then I used to, but if that means he has to go also, so be it.

I no longer blame Martz or-any coach for that matter-for this debacle. This is all Angelo IMO.

I blame Martz separately from Jerry Angelo, though in his own way, he is just as culpable for the recent load of losses as is Angelo.
Angelo is responsible for not building a serviceable offensive line, a good WR corp, and now adequate depth to field a competitive team under any and all conditions. This team sucks, yet, like a typical politician, Angelo claims we have the talent to make a run at the Super Bowl. Now that we're in the midst of a four game losing streak that is sure to be extended to five games by Christmas night, I fully expect some heads to roll. George McCaskey may have gotten over Jerry Angelo's bullshit, which is why we're starting to hear rumblings of Angelo's pending retirement at season's end. I think, to be truthful with you, the news of Sam Hurd's arrest on federal drug trafficking charges was embarrassing enough that it, along with the fact that this season has effectively gone down the shitter, is enough to put Jerry Angelo and possibly anyone associated with him in the front office out of a job.

Geez Starky, you despised a whole bunch of us about a month ago when we said exactly what you're saying now. Has self loathing finally set in. I've been posting what a busted ass Jerry Angelo is for weeks and how Martz is not the right guy for this team. I even ruminated on the fact that Martz was just crazy enough to sabotage the rest of the season because he didn't get his way as far as his type of QB was concerned. There was no one in a better position to make or break Caleb Hanie and break him is exactly what the bastard did.
This present organization is the poorest excuse for a football team in the entire NFL and it starts at the top and works it's way down. You won't fix this problem until the McCaskey's get off their asses and start playing hardball and I don't see that happening. I'll bet you all of my Bears Bucks Jerry Angelo is still the Bears GM next year which means I'm taking my despised ass somewhere else for my football fix. Somebody PM me when things change. Until the fuck this shit!
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

You post is so stupid, I couldn't even get past the first sentence. Hell yeah, and I STILL despise fans like you. We were in the midst of a 5-game winning streak and fans like you were bitching about wins over quality teams on the road because they didn't fit into some unknown 'good enough' zone. I despise fans that have knee-jerk reactions over silly things.
I am reacting to the 4th straight loss of a team wasn't built to survive the loss of their QB. And to show how childish some of you are, the "can't" in the title is obviously a typo. Anyone with half the brains God gave a garden-slug that actually READS the post, knows what I mean, but you little children just want to look like little smart-asses instead of discussing the post at hand.
Fuck this site.
