How different we would be taking if .....
If Cutler had never gone down.....
*We would not hear the overflowing amount of hatred for Jerry Angelo or Mike Martz.
*The Bears would have won at very least three of the four games and be sitting pretty in the playoff hunt with a solid grasp on the fifth play off spot.
If Marian Barber did not screw us out of two wins...
*No one would be bitching about how Martz screwed over the Bears by not playing to Caleb Hanie's strengths*
*No one would be talking about how much Hanie sucks
*The Bears would still be sitting pretty with a solid grasp on a playoff spot.*

My hatred towards Jerry Angelo will never change.

As far as the team goes .... maybe. But they still would've been suspect as far as how much success they would have had in playoff games.
As far as JA goes .... 10yrs of proving that he can't draft well enough to build a dominant team ( without having to break the bank signing some other team's draft choices ) wouldn't have changed.
Whatever. Fact is: there are consistent flaws that show up in this team as a result of the way it gets built. It's a broken record - as are the woulda coulda shoulda discussions like these.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

Even JJ is smart enough to recognize when its over for the season.
Thats not saying much for JJ but its a hellova saying less for you if you think you can scrape this season out of the toilet.
Heres's the first thing that swings my dick to left or right in the positioning of the pants when it comes to THE CHICAGO BEARS,
I DONT KNOW !
Why is that? Why does HALAS HALL do this not only to moi ... BUT ALL OF US ???
There's really no sense in arguing what we needed ... THREE YEARS AGO ... FIVE YEARS AGO ?
It's shit under the river of a BEARS team headed south.
Goddammit if we only had the right people to take what we were building and continue to build ...
but instead we go off on this goddamn tangent and dont build for what is obvious.
It fuckin shows up year after year ... you build this ... and think youve got the shit settled ...
and then you hire EX -COWBOYS. WTF ??
What the goddamn fuck ???? What the godamn motherfucking fuck ????
Well gentlemen ... I AM GOING TO HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS ... and I hope you have the same !
I wish yours and all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS !!
Fucking son of a bitchin goddamn motherfucking PACKERS ...
on Christmas Day ... and we dont stand a chance.
BEARRSSE !!
WAIT UNTIL NEXT YEAR !!

Depends on if Knox is still slipping/sliding all over the field and dropping passes/causing int's.
Depends on if Hester, the guy that knows this playbook better then every other wr, still cannot run accurate routes.
Depends on if Forte also goes down b/c the guys behind him are not world beaters and Forte took 40+% of the O pressure off Cutler, and kept teams honest.
Depends on if this OL had another off game or so and got Cutler killed
Unfortunately what if's don't work. The reality is that w/Cutler/Forte going down the rest of this O got severly exposed for what it is, below average. KC is on it's..3rd or 4th qb and 3rd and 4th rb, and lost their TE(we've seen how big those guys can be for an O on other teams) they have a terrible record but just fired their coach, so maybe it was more to do w/that. Or maybe Palko is just that bad. But w/KO and Battle and Bowe they looked respectable. Houston is the case for JA sucking though; 3rd qb, lost their top WR(one of the best in the league), just got back their starting RB(one of the best in the league), and lost their top D player(one of the best in the league), and they are still going to make a playoff run. Last year GB did it w/14 players on IR. JA has created a paper thin lineup, and if you poke a whole in one position everything starts breakind down. We don't have a solid backup at more then a few positions on either O or D. God forbid we would have lost Urlacher Briggs Peppers or Tillman b/c they don't that can play behind them.

No, point is Cutler masked how bad we were. If he plays, we win those games. At least three of them.
Point is, if Barber hadn't of fucked up in two games, we win those game.
Those were the points of this thread.

I'm more of the mind if the team was indeed built just a BIT better we win 3 of those games. Anything can sway either way with one or two of those "what if" situations. It's good conjecture though but it does show that the build of the team cannot sustain injuries like other teams can and do. What would have the record been with just a few minor injuries in the previous seasons virtually injury free run?
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.
