What qb would you want as a backup?
It's an obvious need, and i doubt enderle will be counted on anytime soon. Obviously we need a mobile qb, and kinda cheap. With Jason Campbell not fitting into the cheap category, i think mark sanchez may be the guy. A fresh start and not being highly coveted may make him the best one for that backup role. I may be wrong, what do you guys think?

I'd like to see Sanchez, but I think he'll get another shot as a starter somewere, and probably for the jets. I honestly want orton as our back up. If not him, then McNabb for 2 years at most while enderle or some other kid learns

I bet Orton is gonna stay in k.c. but, whichever qb they keep, hopefully we could get the other one as a backup

Hi all. I am a reader and never a person to post. But, this topic did interest me---because a backup QB is an absolute necessity. IMHO, there is no way to get Mark Sanchez. Whether he was a main contributor or not, he has been the QB of the NYJ the last two years when they went to the AFC Championship games. Further, he was a very very high draft pick. Based on these two things, there is no way the jets part with this guy anytime soon.
Now...to throw around some names...and I am not sure of their respective contracts, but if one of these guys is a free agent, I would jump. Listed in order of preference.
John Skelton. Ariz.
David Garrard. Free Agent I believe, recovering from surgery. He may want to start though.
Shaun Hill . Det.
Bruce Gradkowski..Cinc.
Dan Orlovsky Ind.
Merry Christmas to all.

If we don't trade up using picks maybe one of our third or fourth rounder on a backup qb. Better chance as an adequate back up then undrafted trash. It's what the patriots do. Kind of hard to spend money on a backup qb when you have a big money qb so the draft is most feasible option

Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Manning, Rivers, Romo would be awesome backups. Short of that your not getting a guy that can come in and do what Cutler does w/the crap that is around him.

Uh...Rodgers mobility, accuracy both in and out of the pocket, poise and leadership would be good to great on any team. He'd be even better on a team with an actual run game.
