There are 6 rb's w/4 or 5 fumble's, all have well over 200 carries, except one backup w/160 carries. there are 6 more w/3 fubmes all have 100-200 plus carries. Bell has 62. extrapolate out those #'s to 200 and you have well above 4-5 fumbles. Therre are about 20 more w/11-200+ carries that have 2 fumbles. No starters have less then 120 carries. Sorry but if he continues to fumble at this pace he's not starter quality, and multi fubmle games are not good games for rb's. Starting rb's cannot fumble the equivelent of 1x per game, or even once every 2-3 games.
FYI I like Bell, when there was talk about keeping Wolfe or Bell, I was firmly in the Bell group; and actually wondered why we brought in Chester Tayler. But he's not a replacement by any standard for Forte as some have suggested. Forte has over 200 carries and 1 fumble; they aren't even on the same planet.

62 this year, plus 40 from 2009. So that makes 102 carries, and he's had a whopping 2 fumbles. EVER. Both in a single game last week.
That makes 1 fumble every 50 attempts.
Now, lets look at the league leader in Rushing...MJD. He's had 6 Fumbles this season, on 318 attempts. Which averages out to....
1 Fumble every 50 attempts.
And, fwiw...MJD has a 4.5 average, Bell has 4.6. So extrapolate that. My point is, theres no need to get worked up over a single bad game a player has, and there is no point in "extrapolating" stats, or at the least, extrapolating them based on a player with a small sample due to play time.

Well since we are going over a career instead of this year, or as a starter...MJD, 1459 attempts, 19 fumbles. That is 1 out of 77 not one out of 50. Forte, 1014 and 12 fumbles, which is 1 out of 84.5. Adrian Peterson, who we all know fumbles WAY to much, is 1 out of 64. Arian Foster 1 out of 73, seing a trend, most these guys are 70 +, only AP is under it.
I'm not arguing his ypc, I said I had no problem w/how he ran, but he cannot afford to fumble at the rate he does. That is one out of every 2 games; and for a rb that is to high.

I only brought up YPC because you brought up extrapolation in explaining why Bell isnt a good RB. So, by that standard, we can extrapolate his yardage compared to MJD, and since Bell has a higher YPC, does that make him a better RB?
2 Fumbles in a single game is far too small a sample size to be extrapolating anything. But seeing as how those are the only two fumbles he's had as a pro player, and they both happened in one game, im willing to cut him some slack.

KBell showed something really good and promising vs GB. But it was just one game, both the good and the bad. He should come into TC next year and compete against Barber for the #2 job with the loser bcoming #3 (yes, I would keep them both despite Barber's screwups in the Denver game, he ran well and is signed for another year).
But the idea of Bell replacing Forte is a non-starter...
RB is about the only position where we look solid and deep for 2012.

Time to focus more on the Blackhawks who just beat the Red Wings tonight. Foolsball is over.

I didn't say he was a bad rb, I said he didn't have a great game; and that 2 fumbles was a bad game for a RB. You claimed eh it happens. I also stated that I liked KB and how hard he runs. AND the reason I pointed it out was b/c of the massive love he was getting w/some people saying this was proof that Forte could be replaced. Point was made though, starting caliber rb's, while some might have multi fumble games, do not fumble at the rate that Bell has now fumbled.
I like Bell, I think he should have been the #2 two years ago. But that doesn't mean I think that he or MBIII can replace or should somenow be able to devalue what Forte does. Forte doesn't drop the ball near as often as Bell. And therefore is far more reliable and a far better option.

lol, yeah i agree...he had a bad game. I just disagreed with the "extrapolation" part i guess.

Another spectacular fumble by Bell....
I am starting to agree that he should not be a primary running back. For us or any team outside of the NFCN. I would love to see the Pack, Lions or Vikes sign him.
