What? We have an agressive D, they are taught to go after the ball, that is why we are great at takeaways (which we almost had on that play).
It was a freak injury, they happen. Theres no need to blame Wright for it.
good news was Lach walked off the field, so hopefully its nothing major, and he is ok.

Come on Soul, you're better than that. You do realize we're winning and that this is an 11 win team AT WORST with Jay still at QB, right? We DON'T need an overhaul, we need talent at key places that have been key places for far too long (mainly WR, CB, LT) which just frustrates the hell out of everyone. Even with those Jenna Jameson sized holes, we still were 7-3 and were rolling as a team. Not a lot of teams have what it takes to overcome a franchise QB going down. Our D spent three straight games giving it hell, but it's just a tragic season ruined by injury.

Yeah, Bears right now are stuck in the grey area...not good enough to win a Superbowl, but not bad enough to be bottom feeders.
Even when we lost our franchise QB and RB and pretty much GAVE teams wins, we still finished 8-8. Granted, had Cutler gone down earlier in the season, we would have a few more losses, but the opposite could be said...had he gone down later in the season, we wouldve made the playoffs.
I think 2012 is gonna be a SB-or-bust year. going to need to make some hard decisions and big changes, but a SB is definitely achievable if we stay healthy.

I thought you left until next year began....

Packer backup QB Matt Flynn throws 6 td passes and for almost 500 yards. Now that's how you prepare a backup QB when your Mike McCarthy and not Mike Martz. If they don't fire that assclown this week I'll be spending more than just the offseason away. Besides Benji, look at your calendar, it is next year.
The nice thing about this is that at least I'll have one NFCN team to be pulling for during the playoffs. The only team that knows what the fuck they're doing and has a coaching staff and front office that help keep them on top is located 200 miles north of Chicago. That's probably the best offensive team I've ever seen. Some body should show Martz game films of that Packer offense. That's the current version of the "Greatest Show of Turf".
Once we get rid of that loser and the worthless GM sitting in his ivory tower we may finally build a football team in Chicago but I seriously doubt they'll even have the balls to let Martz go let alone alone for George McCaskey having the stones to force Angelo into retirement.
Go Packers!
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

What a total piece of crap these guys have turned into.

The injury to Url was an awkward landing on freak play and not Wright's fault--he was going aggressively to the ball in flight as he should. I hope he's ok but, if you're gonna get a knee strain, the 4thQ of the last game in a done-and-over season is about the best time to get it. BU balled it impressively all year long which gives me confidence that he still has some gas left in the tank for next year despite his age.
I know we are all disappointed and totally frustrated by the post-Cutler meltdown, but I respectfully disagree with the rant. Soul, you know full well that with a healthy Cutler, we would have won at least 3 of those first 4 losses and come into GB 10-4 and finished the season 11-5 with the 5th seed WC. Simply put, the O was decimated by injuries to Cutty, Forte, the OL, etc. and didn't have the talent depth to score more than ~10pts a game the last 6 weeks of the season. The playoffs were lost due to (in order):
1. Horrible backup QB play from Hanie
2. A WR corps that was useless w/o Cutler's lasers into tight spots
3. Some key bad decisions/plays/drops on Martz, Barber, RWilliams, the hail-Mary, etc.
I'm not trying to make excuses or sugarcoat the fact the last 6 weeks exposed some major deficiencies that require attention. Even accounting for injuries to Carimi & CWill, the OL melted down after playing pretty well mid-season. Louis and esp. Webb had multiple terrible games (Webb was a sieve today yet again--he MUST be upgraded). Perhaps due to fatigue since the O couldn't stay on the field, the DL had virtually zero pass rush the entire 2nd half game after game (today was much better). Bowman/Jennings looked like clown school out there at CB with missed picks and bad coverages. And most obviously, the WRs were a joke with drops and bad separation that scared no opposing defenses. All other teams had to do was stack the box to contain the run and keep Hanie in the pocket where he looked like a deer-in-headlights.
If you want to call it a "major overhaul" or not, a few key moves done right this offseason should put this team right back in contention when healthy next year. Need:
1. A real WR to start (FA) and another one outta the draft to develop.
2. OT upgrade over Webb who should become the backup/swing replacing OMG.
3. CB upgrade/competition opposite Tillman.
4/5. Youth/depth addition at pass rushing DE & LB
It is doable.
PS:
Did anyone see what Colston did today? Pretty good potentially available upgrade over RW...
Does anyone doubt now that we need an OT no later than the 2nd round?

I'm sure usual suspects will polish this turd once again, and tell us it's filet mignon.
Sorry,not buying into it again.
IF anyone is truly serious at Halas Hall, heads need to roll, scapegoating Martz won't cut it.
Martz doesn't draft anyone, but,he's guilty of lots of other incompetence.
It's gong to be a cold day in hell,before this team can compete for the division;
and that's if,IF they collectively pull their heads out.
They have been outmatched, out classed, out coached, and flat out outwitted time and again.

Martz sucks for sure and I'd love for him and Angelo to join RoyW on a one-way roadtrip out of town.
But, come on...comparing what Flynn has to work with as opposed to Hanie/McCown is a fucking joke. GB has, including TEs, easily 4-5 receivers that are better than ANYTHING on the Bears roster. Packers also have an OL that protects their fucking QB, even though they have had significant injuries to starters too. Hanie was terrible no doubt and needs to go (bad coaching or not). McCown was decent IMO in 2 games and I don't believe that Matt Flynn would have done all that much better with the shit receiver-targets and shit OT-play the Bears put out there lately.
I would also add that Stafford, whom we contained well, torched GB for 500yrds and 5 TDs. CJ had over 200yrds himself--was shut down by Peanut. The Pack is damn good in the passing game no doubt but their running game blows and their D is horrible. If the Bears can just put together a competent O, they match up pretty well against them.
