Goodbye Mike Martz/Update the Offense Plan
This offseason is focused on getting rid of Mike Martz and updating the offense so we can get the most from Jay Cutler.
Free Agents
S Laron Landry [Washington] 5 years 32.5 million/12 guaranteed
The Bears have had issues at safety since Mike Brown left and they have tried with draft picks and free agents to fix it. The Bears cannot rely on Major Wright and Landry gives them a ton of speed and a punishing hitter to go with Conte playing FS.

WR Robert Meachem [New Orleans] 4 years 12 million/5 guaranteed
Norv Turner wants to get the ball downfield to big WRs and while Robert Meachem has not been a consistent starter for the Saints he is 62 has elite speed and has shown big play ability. Meachem will step in as the #2 WR for the Bears.

CB Brandon Carr [Kansas City] 5 years 25 million/12 guaranteed
The Bears need a starting CB and while Carr has not been as strong this season he has the size and ability that the Bears need. With Brandon Flowers making 10 million a season the Chiefs may not have enough for Carr.

OT Dennis Roland [Cincinnati] 2 years 5 million/2 guaranteed
The 6'9" Roland has experience at both RT and LT and would be the ideal backup for a team that has an inconsistent LT and a RT coming off a knee injury.

Re-signings
RB Matt Forte [5 years 40 million/21 guaranteed]
A must resign and the most dynamic playmaker that the Bears have.
QB Josh McCown [2 years 2 million]
Where was he at the beginning of the season.
TE Kellen Davis [1 year 1.5 million/1 guaranteed
Give him another year to show that he has some value, but the Bears need to get more dynamic.
DE Israel Idoinje [2 years 6 million/ 2 guaranteed]
Idonije might not be the pass rusher that the Bears need across from Peppers he is a great run stuffer and a perfect rotational player.
CB D.J Moore [4 years 10 million/5 guaranteed]
Perfect for the defense and a true take away machine he should be resigned for the top level of what a nickel CB gets.
DT Amobi Okoye [2 years 6 million/3 guaranteed]
Okoye has proven to be a nice rotational player and has shown he can get to the QB. The Bears should try and resign him and keep him in the competition, but he is not worth breaking the bank for.
CB Corey Graham [3 years 6 million/3 guaranteed]
A valuable special teamer and has flashed a knack for the ball in limited defensive reps. The Bears should keep the special teams captain.
S Craig Steltz [2 years 2.5 million/1 guaranteed]
Steltz has been a consistent contributor and can hold up as a sport starter and a leader on special teams.
RB Khalil Bell [2 years 3 million/1 guaranteed]
Bell in my opinion has earned the right to be the primary back up, he runs hard and catches the ball well out of the backfield.
Draft
1[16] WR Alshon Jeffery [South Carolina] 64 232lbs.
The Bears need a player that can step in and be there #1 WR. Jeffery has incredible size and hands that make up for average speed. He can get deep and win the jump balls that the Bears have been lacking especially in the red zone. Question marks about his size and speed will be answered at the combine.

2[48] TE Orson Charles [Georgia] 63 252lbs.
The Bears have nothing resembling a receiving threat at the TE position and Kellen Davis has been a disappointment. If Mike Martz is gone the Bears can address a need with Charles who will give them a new age TE. Charles reminds me a lot of JerMichael Finley as he is really a WR playing TE. With incredible deep speed and good hands Cutler could make this guy a star.

3[72] DE Cam Johnson [Virginia] 63 275lbs.
The Bears need someone who can get to the QB across from Julius Peppers. Izzy is a solid player and will be retained as the 1st and 2nd down end, but Johnsons brings more speed and more pass rush ability. In a defense that is based on pass rush Johnson brings the needed depth and youth that Cory Wootton has not.

3[80] OT Matt McCants [UAB] 67 310lbs.
JMarcus Webb has been inconsistent and his final game against Jared Allen did not inspire confidence. Webb is solid when Cutler is playing and when Martz protects him, but he is a long way from dominant and needs competition. McCants is an athletic freak, but has raw technique and lacks experience, which is perfect for Mike Tice. McCants should provide a safety net if Webb struggles.

4. CB Robert Blanton [Notre Dame] 61 190lbs.
The Bears CB position is going to go through a transition this offseason and I expect that Bowman and Jennings will be allowed to leave. By adding a free agent starter the Bears can pick a CB later that they can develop. Blanton has the size and physicality that the Bears need in the Cover 2

5. LB Chris Marve [Vanderbilt] 6 242lbs.
The Bears need to add youth and depth to the LB core to develop behind Briggs and Urlacher who only have a couple of seasons left. Marve is a prospect that I love to watch because he has a nose for the end zone and makes plays when he gets there.

6. C David Snow [Texas] 63 310lbs.
The Bears need to continue to develop young OL talent and Snow gives them a smart technically sound C of the future that can be developed by Mike Tice and provide insurance for when Garza retires or if Chris Spencer is injured.

7. LB Ramon Buchanan [Miami] 6 225lbs.
The Bears take a flyer on an incredibly raw LB that has incredible athletic ability and speed perfect for the Cover 2 defense.
