Titans deny Bears' request to interview QB coach

As expected, the Tennessee Titans shot down the Chicago Bears’ request to interview quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains for a similar position, according to a league source.
Loggains is under contract to the Titans and cannot make a lateral move without the team’s permission.
The Bears were interested in talking with Loggains about overseeing the passing game, as new offensive coordinator Mike Tice is in charge of the running game and the protections.
Last year, the Titans wanted to interview Tice to be their offensive coordinator, but the Bears denied them permission to speak with Tice.
Loggains is credited with helping Matt Hasselbeck transition to a new offense last season, and also with developing Jake Locker. He is in his fourth season with the Titans and previously was a scouting assistant with the Cowboys.
It is believed the Bears remain hopeful that they will have a chance to hire Jaguars offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter for the job, but Koetter remains under contract to the Jaguars and may have better options.
