No once a person is no longer on the team, that person is and was garbage. That is how DB5454 works.

Soul and I tried to save DB54's sorry ass since we talked to him in his threads everyday at the request of a couple of the moderators. We took care of his feud with one poster (GlobeofFrogs) by reporting him flaming DB in his threads. However, DB kept up with his usual shit of bumping threads, harassing those who didn't agree with his opinions and statistics he presented, and he kept on pestering some of the moderators. When he started to PM me and tell me who I could and could not talk to in his threads, I nearly gave up on him. A short time after he started to do that, he was banned. He will never be back on this site as far as I know again.
Unless its for comedic purposes. i.e. a full apology and welcoming back, just to re-ban him again. Worth it.

Well for all the problems that arose over his stubborn "homerism" (even I had to battle him over some of those issues and Angelo) he still added a lot with his threads and posts if only to spur some strong feelings that were contrary to his. He and I had our disagreements but they never deteriorated like some did with other posters. That I can't defend and I often did what I could to suggest ways to keep the peace but it never worked for long.
I do what I can to put some good threads up the way he used to and I have pretty strong opinions on some things too but one thing I think we can all agree on is that I'm not a "homer". I try to be realistic in my expectations but I'm not afraid to "call a spade and spade" when it was well deserved which DB54 almost always seemed hesitant to do.
Even I can take only so much sunshine blown up my ass before I finally lose patience. Getting in step with 4th and some others over Angelo's fuck ups was something I did only earlier this year after his complete failure in FA and the signing of guys like Gholston and RWill. Not to mention the failure of the team to cut his pet FA OMG.
I would guess the main benefit is that we have a little more peace around here now and 4th, Claws, Bear Stuff, Kegger, Mo, Loki and I aren't trading weekly emails over the last incident and uproar. What I can say in behalf of the staff is that they did exercise a lot of patience and restraint for quite a while before finally acting. The burden of needing to respond to so many complaints almost daily is a real pain in the ass. I know that because I was one of the original moderators way back in 2004-2005 when this site first started. These guys really do a masterful job of running this place and keeping it the best Bears fan site around. Toast to you guys.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.
