Honestly, had NO won the game, i was ready to declare the Death of Defense. They posted a stat that said in playoff history, teams with a +4 turnover ration were 71-1. Defense is truly on life support, now its all about Offense, Passing and receiving TEs.....and we dumped Olsen...BRILLIANT!!
But yeah...this is why i hope our new GM will realize these facts and develop our team moving forward. We have the RB and QB...just need to fix the OL, and we have seen the importance TEs can have, so we dont necessarily NEED a top ranked WR if we have "above average" ones and solid TEs who can catch (we already know Forte can catch). Everyone is worred about the age of our D, but i think its more important to develop our offense then it is to replace aging D players.
Ya I meant to mention how NE was going to add to the TE thing. And they did abuse Den. Den, btw is proof that you need a QB that can throw the ball worth a damn for 4 qtrs too btw. 4/14 for 46 yards? Oh wait, I forgot I have to add his running yards b/c that's what makes timmy special...46 + 13 = 59, lets assume he has his "special 4th qtr" and he gets to 180 w/a lost fumble and 4 sacks(just heard 12 tackles for a loss)...wow. Denver should be fined for playing such a pathetic game in the playoffs. It's a shame this is what was one after one of the best playoff games I've seen in a long time. Meanwhile NE matched them for yards rushing, and then threw for 290+ or 6 times what Den threw for, what a joke.

I'm all for BPA, if that nets us a talented TE instead of a S or DE or OT in the 2nd, so be it. Give me playmakers that can contribute from day 1.

Coby Fleener sounds like our type of guy. We have, really, so many pressing needs, from getting a new LT to a CB and DE, to a WR and a TE. I'd say that the best case scenario for this team would be to address three of those needs in the draft (DE, CB, LT, or TE), and go after one or two in free agency (WR, possibly LT). I would be shocked if we addressed all of those issues during the offseason since that is, after all, five big positions needing fixed, but I think we can hit most of them without any problem.

No this is going to be a 2-3 year fix Dagan, we cannot fill, even w/FA, all the wholes we have.
For the year of the QB, only 1 if the big 3 is still in it. All but 1 game was won by a team that didn't dominate on the ground and w/a stifling D.

I think with FA and the draft we can fill DE, LT, and WR. Will take another year or so to "backfill" the LB, CB, and various other spots. If we do indeed draft a TE he needs to be able to both block well and shed some tackles. Perhaps something of a Bravaro/Mowatt mold that run routes well that can help the wr corps.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

How about the Vernon Davis or Graham or Hernandez or Glonkowski molds? I'd take those type of TE's. Hell I'd take a Greg Olsen type TE, if we have an OC that knows that they are allowed to be more then blockers.
