I wonder if the draft hates Mel for his constant mocking.

As far as the DeCastro selection goes, that is on the ridiculous side IMO unless someone is anticipating maving CWill back to LT (which is ridiculous in itself as he failed there before and finally seems to have found a home at LG). Pure OGs rarely go that high anyway and I've seen no respected analysts that say DD is anything but an NFL OG prospect. The Bears need an LT and THAT'S IT on the OL. Whoever forecast us taking DD in #1 doesn't seem to have a firm grasp on what the team's key needs are.
I disagree with the Floyd prediction but can at least see how it makes some superficial sense. The only way we should consider that is if we don't sign a FA WR...kill me if that ends up being the case. We do have a glaring need for a playmaker WR but I disagree with the prediction that this is how the team should/will go about filling it. I don't see any likely mid-1st WR that is going to have a big immediate impact and the risk of a bust/disappointment is large there.
I did see a new mock recently on the Bleacher Report that has us taking OT Mike Adams from Ohio St. in round 1. While I like the positional choice, lots of scouting reports indicate that after Kalil, Martin, & Reiff there is a steep dropoff in talent among OTs in this draft class. Adams would definitely be better than OMG but if he can't beat out Webb for the starting job, then he isn't worth a #1 pick...JMO
If you read the scouting report on Martin you can see that he's far from being a first day starter at the next level. He doesn't even rate as high as Carimi rated last year but the scouting report says he may well be "over drafted" or in other words a reach as a 1st round pick because he's a LT who can pass block at the college level. As it stands he rates a second round pick and both Mike Adams and Jeff Allen are rated ahead of him. Of course all this may change after the combine when the "horseflesh" really gets tested and examined.
We could use a guy to compete with Webb but nothing here tells me this guy could come in and do it in 2012 and there is a risk that he turns out to be another CWill who just didn't handle LT well at a pro level.
DeCastro is probably a better prospect but being an OG probably means he'll get taken lower than he rates. I like what the scouting report has to say about the guy but we don't need OG's that badly and surely not at #19 unless everyone else on our board is gone. Then he becomes a BPA pick who won't hurt you but doesn't meet an immediate need.

Ruskell and Lovie will run the draft and be defensive driven as usual despite the offensive needs.

I want the defense to get younger so I want our FA focus to be on offense and our draft on defense. We have enough vets on defense to bring along the younger guys. On offense everyone looks lost half the time so it could use some veteran presence

Ho hum on the drug charge. Let him get past it before he in the NFL where they'll drug test him. Hell, in Colorado I can buy it in retail dispensaries all over town. AllI need is a medical ID. Simple possesion shouldn't be a big deal.
And hell yeah if this drops him from a top ten pick and he's there at #19 just as long as they're comfortable that he's not gonna be Ricky Williams II I'd draft him. He's be the starting LCB on opening day. I'd rather take a risk with him than Floyd.

with the new rookie contracts its more a risk on the rookie what kind of lifestyle they want to live that can mess up their bank roll. We can buy and grow here also soul but the legality of it has taken the fun out lol

If Lovie does that ( which he probably will ) then fine this team struggles to put up points next season and he writes himself his ticket out of town.
( unless they do a good job in FA picking up offense which is where it should come from anyways )
This fanbase is sick and tired of watching the O struggle. And if ANOTHER year of it = no playoffs then he deserves it ... he should go.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

Risk this risk that ....... F these risky picks. If a guy is DUMB enough to do the kinds of things that puts a red flag on himself , Bears would be better served picking the next guy who doesn't have any character issues.

But in reality not all that different than Michael Floyd's three DIU's in rapid fire succession that got him suspended from the Notre Dame team. A friend gets pulled over for a dumb traffic offense and he gets caught with a small amount of grass. A misdemeanor that could have and maybe did happen to many of us. If he's using all the time it's gonna show up at the combine and this may actually show already if he's been smoking. If every college student/football player who ever smoked a joint was ignored the draft would be a lot shorter than 7 rounds.
