I hope to God this isn't true. WTF is the point of interviewing Ross and Raye and others if they just wanted to give the job to Rusk anyway? Look like they "tried"? What's the motivation for TR over the other obviously better candidates...money savings?

I hope this is just a trial balloon that is shot down in short order. Be dumber than shit to fire JA and then replace him with JA's loser assistant.

I may not think he is the best pick to be our GM, but this paranoia about him getting picked as our next GM is just totally out of hand. I want Jimmy Raye or Marc Ross but I am not going run to the hills because Tim Ruskell gets the job I will do just like any good Bears fan and just bitch about everything he does. Its not like we just name Matt Millen as our next GM.

OK, if Ruskell is SO good, how come I haven't heard his name mentioned in any other GM openings?

if this is true we bears fans need to stay away from games and stop watching this team ... I know that wont happen but its really the only way to get change. the McCaskeys don't give a shit about anything but money, when we Bear fans step up and hit them in the pocket book then and only then will things change.

Unfortunately we know that this will never happen. While I don't really like Ruskell for the GM job I also don't think he will cause the sky to fall over Soldier Field either. We really won't know how good / bad our next GM will be until he is on the job no matter who the Bears hire.
