We don't know about every one who turned them down but it's been reported that Angelo was the reason Jeremy Bates turned down an invitation to interview. He ended up in Seattle where Pete Carroll fired him after his first year. Greg Olson was at the top of the list as the new QB coach but he's gone elsewhere and Bates must have burned his bridges around the Bears when he refused an interview in 2010.

If Tice gets hired in Oakland we'll need a new OC in addition to new QB and Oline coaches. Lovie should be on his knees praying every night that Tice doesn't leave. If that happens I'm 99% certain next season will be his last. The offense will suffer and we'll slide back even more into mediocrity.

Tice may not be the best OC around but he was the best man for the job. He was the guy that could come in and tweak things enough to make them work without a complete overhaul. No wonder the sportswriters have been so critical of the goings on at Halas Hall. As usual it looks like a daily cluster fuck going on with everything dead in the water until we know which character plays which part.

Well, thank Jesus that Tice declined Oakland's request to interview him for the head coach's position. Now things are stable, and we can get on with the business of working our way back into playoff contention. I think we can win the division next year if enough changes are made. On defense, we're a pass rusher and a corner away from being dominant again. On offense, it's being projected that we may well pick Mike Adams to be our LT of the future this year.

If for no other reason than the fact that Jerry Angelo is no longer with the team, I think that things are only looking up and are getting brighter for the Bears. Now, if the Bears will only hire Licht, as I think he's the best man for the job.... lol.
