    Michael C. Wright @mikecwright

@Ejayjones3 Heard that if you don't know him, Ross can come off as cocky. That can rub folks the wrong way. Heard he didn't do so well.

Didn't seem like the JA firing was a Teddy move, seemed Schwetty Teddy had hitched his horse to the JA/Lovie train a long time ago.

He still makes good money for the Mck's, so I doubt they fire him, but I could see them move him away from the football side of things and get him back to just $'s.

    From another site,

Last night on Sirius "Late Hits" with Gil Brandt some Bears fan called in and wondered about the GM hire. Gil said " They have already made thier decision and they are going with Emery" He then backtrackted a little and said " maybe they havn't announced that yet, but that's what I was told" Maybe he had bunk sources too, but Gil is pretty solid most of the time. Whatever, lets just move ahead and get to the draft!

I don't think any amount of Viagra could induce the swelling of the appendage in my crotch enough to get over the way the Bears have handled this shit.

    Are you Rex Grossman?

    Haha j/k... kinda.
    Welcome to the board!

The talk about all the changes that could come with Licht sound good, but I am still leary of possible teardown and rebuilding.

-From his sources at the senior bowl, Emery is the superior candidate, not even sure why Licht is being interviewed again.
I believe what Hub Arkush says about as much as I believe a drunk who says he never had a DUI.

Emery is the "safe" choice. He's more of a known quantity and probably more willing to work within the boundaries. There were also a lot of NFL people who said they felt that Licht wasn't up to a GM's job yet.

If you look at everything this guy will have in his plate during the next year just being the best evaluator of college talent isn't enough to get this job done. It's gonna take more than that.

As much as it might be nice to see the Bears organization do something unpredictable I don't think the hire of the next GM will be that. Once they make a decision they tend to stick with it. Look how long both Lovie and Angelo have been around without ever producing a Super Bowl Championship.

It really makes no difference who we prefer because it's all about who they feel most comfortable with and based on their profiles I'd say that it would be Emery.

Does anyone even know why Jimmy Raye was crossed off the list of candidates? He had the best resume of them all. Now that we know that Marc Ross comes across as cocky and arrogant, that makes for an interesting question in my humble opinion.

Apparently people were not impressed with his record.

Buddy Nix left the Chargers a couple of seasons ago and A.J Smith and Raye were given more control and since that point things really went down.

His draft record was suspect when you removed the Buddy Nix years.
