Ed McCaskey, he claimed to have brains, while the Fridge never claim to be smart.

Those ladies were not part of the family friendly experience she thinks surrounds the team. Maybe we should invite her over to post with us.
    Wouldn't that be a hoot!!!

    Hubs Latest Rant

“I can tell you that Jason Licht really isn’t a good candidate for this job,” Hub Arkush told The McNeil and Spiegel Show. “The rumors that are leaking out is maybe that is the direction Ted (Phillips) is leaning.
“The more you talk to people in New England, the more you wonder why Jason Licht is a candidate.”

Arkush said that, based on Phil Emery’s background, he should easily be hired over Licht.

“Of the two guys (Phillips) is talking to, I am more impressed today with one of them than I was a week ago,” Arkush said. “Some people who I really trust tell me that, while Emery does not have the experience, he has the credentials that you’d be looking for. The military background, the dedication, the commitment, the structure. He understands how to put a scouting department together.”

Jason Licht has been on the short list for a couple of GM jobs from what I have read and a couple of paraphrased quotes from this week,

-JD [Waddle and Silvy] "Many people in the league are surprised that Jason Licht is not a GM already and many thought he would be the guy to succeed Heckert in Philadelphia, but Rosenbloom is good friends with Banner and he was forced out."

-John Clayton [CJH] "Licht has a more impressive resume if you look at the organizations he has been involved in and the fact that his teams have now been to 4 Superbowls, but Emery knows Halas Hall and that might be the difference."

Well the story on Ed is that when the old man was still alive he would invite Ed McCaskey to sit in on his early morning meetings to ask him a question or two about the team. Then he'd tell Ed that he needed to leave so he could discuss private matters with whoever else was in the room. As soon as the door closed Halas would say, "there goes the dumbest son of a bitch I ever met".

Yeah, Ed was a nice guy and the players liked him but he was about as sharp on football as a butter knife.
