It looks like Emery is going to be the Bears new GM. So much for Ross or Licht. So it begins...

Honestly lets give this guy a chance. He might not be who we wanted and he might not be the sexiest name out there, but he is an improvement from Angelo and Ruskell.

I am going to give Emery a chance and he was #2 on the guys that I wanted.

Just because he knows the orgnanization does not mean he is not the right guy for the job.

I was going to be content as long as it wasn't Licht or Ruskell, so if this is true I'm okay with it. Now, let's start signing/drafting some studs!

@DarrylConrad Not going there yet, but 1 high ranking official on another team said he'd go w/Emery over the other guys.

    Quote:
So how does Chiefs GM Scott Pioli feel about this? He could lose his college scouting director. The Chiefs GM was quoted by the Chicago Tribune with some glowing praise for Emery.

"He's one of the hardest workers I've ever been around," Chiefs general manger Scott Pioli said. "I can't overemphasize the hard working part. He's outstanding at his job. Detailed, meticulous, organized."

    Quote:
Falcons President Rich McKay said Emery had strong convictions about Roddy White and convinced the Falcons to draft the wide receiver who became a Pro Bowler.

I have gone back and forth on Phil Emery for a couple of days and I am starting to like a couple of things about him.

    1. He is not Tim Ruskell.

    2. He has the most experience of any of the candidates and that makes me feel a little better because of the PROVEN track record in the league.

    3. He has worked with a number of teams and in that time has been involved with many people in the league and has seen a number of management styles and drafting philosophies.

    4. He has been described as one of the hardest working scouts in the business and a grinder that is well respected amongst the league.

    5. He has been involved in a number of very solid drafts,

    6. He is not Tim Ruskell.

    Kansas City Chiefs: Phil Emery

I know that he is not most people's 1st choice and he is not young and flashy like Marc Ross. I think that he is a solid upgrade over Jerry Angelo and a much better option than Tim Ruskell.

Chicagobears.com hasn't reported anything yet, so let's be patient.
