Johnson is represented by same agent (C.J. LaBoy) as Bears receiver Earl Bennett, who got a sweet four-year, $18 mil contract.

1. He is talented.
25 Years Old, 6'2" 210lbs., Back to Back 1000 yard seasons.
2. He will be significantly cheaper that Dwayne Bowe and Vincent Jackson.
3. He is an idiot.
But Lovie is a players coach and the Bears have a strong QB and locker room. Cutler kept Marshall's mental illness in check so I think he can handle Johnson.

Interesting. A guy a bit more like Earl Bennett. Productive but more of a low profile guy as opposed to guys like Jackson, Colston and Bowe. He's got good size and may be less costly then the high profile guys.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Bowe and Jackson I believe are going to be 9 million a year guys, a little under Fitz, with at least 25 million guaranteed.
5 years 45 million/25 guaranteed.
Johnson is going to be a 6-7 million a year guy with probably under 20 million in the guaranteed money.
5 years 32 million/18 guaranteed

If he's working on a deal w/his current team, not sure how we are planning on getting him. Not sure I see why the Bills would want to let him walk either. But ya I'd like to see us take a shot at him in the open market, if he gets there. The one big positive is he has played well w/the Bills, and that is also in a northern crappy weather area....as opposed to SD or NO.

I'd still far rather have Colston than Stevie Johnson. I think we need someone who is taller than 6'2". Colston is 6'4" and according to everything I've read, has only had one really bad season, after he broke a thumb a couple of years ago. He's solid, and he's the guy I want. I don't want an idiot, as Windy calls Johnson, on the team.

Here's how a rumor like this gets started;
Person #1; Hey I hear Steve Johnson is thinking about trying out free agency and that's a guy the Bears should think about if he does.
Person #2: Yeah, Steve Johnson would be a good fit for the Bears.
Person #3: I hear he's lookin' for a $40 mil deal do you think the Bears would go that high?
There you go. Three different people "mentioning" the name Steve Johnson and the Bears in a series of sentences and not one of them says the Bears are interested in him but somehow that's all it takes to link their names, LOL.
