No shit. Unfortunately our backups haven't been able to do either : run or throw.

Can we get one, who can at least do one of these 2 two things well ? Least that way there's something to work with. Sheesh.

( this is one of the biggest reasons JA is gone . It's ONLY the QB position. Duh. Emery better not make the same mistake.)
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?

    A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

Angelo addressed the quarterback position, but not until it was far too late to do anything to save the Bears season. If we had had McCown all year, we might have beaten Oakland, Kansas City, and Denver...maybe Seattle too, for all we know.

He's not exactly a scrambler but Hill has some mobility. More than Kyle Orton at any rate. I wouldn't mind seeing Orton comeback but I don't see him wanting to go anywhere as a backup. If he stays with KC at least he has a chance of beating Cassell out.

I don't see Orton beating out Matt Cassel. Cassel is a far more accurate passer than Orton. He'll be in a similar system in Kansas City as he was in with the Patriots since Romeo Crennel is the head coach.

He blew that position off ... either with scrap-heapers or guys who weren't quite ready ( Orton etc ) to lead the O. People point to Orton's record, but that was ALL about the D back then, not him.

Can we get a guy with genuine experience, who isn't too young or too old, who doesn't suck ...for once ?

You speak with great wisdom! I think that the best thing that we could do right now is to look seriously into signing Shaun Hill as our backup. He is going to be the best possible backup on the market when you consider that Matt Flynn is probably going to go to a team like the Miami Dolphins and become their starter (especially them since Joe Philbin, who was the Packers' OC, is the new head coach). Hill nearly kicked our asses twice in 2010 as soulman pointed out to me either last night or today, and what is taken away from the Lions helps us since it will hurt a division rival.

He wasn't THAT good in college either. That's got to be the coaching ( hope the Bears finally GET this ).

When Matt Flynn was QB at LSU, he was basically a game manager. The offense that Tiger Head Coach Les Miles ran was primarily a power-set; that is, he ran a lot of plays out of the I-Formation and ran the ball down everybody's throats until he wore defenses down. Tennessee nearly beat LSU in the SEC Championship Game in 2007 because Flynn was not a dynamic enough QB to take advantage of our offense's inability to move the football consistently against that hellacious defense they had.
