    Imagine this was an emery influenced move since phillips & co interviewed ruskell for the GM job. Even in his Seattle days, I thought ruskell wasn't much of a talent evaluator or made numerous wrong acquisitions. IMO it was more dumb luck that the seachickens went to the super bowl his first year and he was more instrumental in the decline of talent that happened afterwards.

    Who knows maybe george told him you can't fire lovie [yet]... but we will let you tell the guy three doors down on the left that he's fired.

    Appears to be another "mutual split" between employee and the team. Could have been Ruskell saying he didn't want to work for the new guy since he didn't get the job or just Phillips saving face for Ruskell.

    Either way it sounds like Emery will restructure the Bears to have a "director of pro scouting" and a "director of college scouting" ... believe Angelo brought Ruskell in as "personal director" to replace both of these positions when he was hired.
