He's a better judge of talent then I am but I sure wouldn't burn draft choices to move up for him. He may even go after we pick. Not playing in the Senior Bowl has cost him in the rankingx.
I'm still up for trading Briggs and at least one of our third round picks to get into the first round. We can worry about another LB later, possibly a pick of one in the middle rounds. I'm no longer sold on Briggs as a true warrior of the game since all he does is bitch about money, and he's also getting old. I know Emery doesn't think of age in that light if you look at what he said in his press conference about people with "gray hairs." But still, Briggs is a troublemaker, and he's going to divide that locker room if he continues down his present path.

I don't really see it and his refusal to play in the Senior Bowl didn't score any points with me either. To me that throws up all kinds of red flags about his not wanting to be measured against his peers. If he believed that his appearance could only hurt him, not help him, he's not a guy I want on the Bears. That tells me he may be a borderline pick and he's playing it safe so he doesn't hurt his potential draft position.
I agree. If there is a run on WRs early on for some reason & we haven't signed a FA WR then maybe I would pick him at 19 but I definitely would not trade up for him.

I don't so much see him causing trouble amongst the players. He has their respect due to his play and Urlacher having his back. I think what it comes down to is whether or not Emery wants to deal with it. If he's steeped in the Pats approach to personnel management then his ass may be gone just like the Pats did with Meriweather who was a two time Pro Bowler when they released him.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Now you're talking turkey! I want Briggs off the team in the worst way possible. But one area I'm in disagreement with is that Briggs will divide the locker room over a salary dispute. Some of the players will develop ideas that they should get a bump in salary if Briggs gets his way, while others may look at him as getting preferential treatment and either doing what I said before or having fights with Briggs surreptitiously behind closed doors. It's worth thinking about. Think of it this way: Urlacher wanted a pay raise when Briggs was last signed to a contract extension in 2007. I think that has a lot to say in proving my theory as being potentially correct.

Floyd is not a "can't miss" guy. You don't trade up for guys like him.

According to various mock threads, we not have to worry about trading up for him. He may fall right into the Bears lap provided that they don't go for a free agent wide receiver. I know that several of the pundits on NFL.com and WalterFootball.com are going with the Bears drafting Floyd. I hope for their sake that they don't because they have the potential of drafting a real lush mess on their hands.

I have a feeling after they time him at the Combine and teams interview him he may fall farther than expected. Just a hunch of course but I just don't get a good feeling about the guy. Despite some of the good things his coach has to say about him I still think there's trouble lurking just under the surface and once he gets his contract and has $$$ it will surface.

I think Floyd has great potential, don't get me wrong. But I think he equally has a chance at fucking everything up. I said in another thread that he could be another Lawrence Phillips, but I don't know. He might well be someone like Cedric Benson, who is successful in the league, but can't stay out of trouble and getting fined/suspended.
