Absolutely not. He isn't a slow player by any means, and his near constant separation even with his sloppy routes is a testament to that. He's just a beast of a man. You can't jam him or he'll toss you and burn you, you can't give him a cushion or he'll kill you underneath and drags you for YAC all day. His body control and hands are top notch and that will outweigh the 4.6 he runs in spandex, just like it did with Fitz. Kid's a gamer.

In short, never say never when it comes to WRs in the draft, but his chances are slim to none of lasting through the 20s, IMHO. If he does, I should hope Emery has the balls to trade up and grab him immediately with our second and one of the thirds.
Okay, but then do you still go out after a WR in free agency to further buttress our weak corps? I'll agree with you that I would rather have Alshon Jeffrey since the talent at the skill positions in the Southeast/Southwest is simply superior to what you'll find in other parts of the country over Michael Floyd. But one thing bothers me from all the scouting reports I have read on Jeffrey: his weight problem. I have to believe that he would be faster if he could keep his weight down a notch or two. Height-wise, he's perfect for the Bears since he'll be able to simply jump up and catch balls thrown by Cutler. I'll take your word for it.

By the way sox, are you a coach? You are more knowledgeable about these prospects than anyone on this site. How do you have access to so much tape, and better still, how do you fit viewing so much tape into your busy schedule?

Jeffery carries almost a consensus 1st round grade so I am not sure where the 2nd round talk has come from?

-The weight gain stuff seems to be a bit of an internet creation as he looked heavier at times, but there has been little confirmation of that. I will assume that he will be at the combine at 230lbs and look good. He was rewarded at South Carolina for his offseason dedication.

-Jeffery plays like Brandon Marshall, but he may not have his timed speed. I do not think that he is slow and he can run with guys like Marshall, Plaxico, Fitz.

Has Jeffery slated higher than Floyd? I think McNutt is a viable option, not as much of an "it" factor like Jeffery but could be solid.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

I haven't seen a single mock draft that has McNutt going in the first round. That being said, he might be a steal in the second.

After I looked at Windy's plethora of YouTubes on Alshon Jeffrey, I think the kid has real promise. If the Bears are going to draft a WR in the first round, let it be Jeffrey.

No I meant McNutt as a 2nd. I think McNutt goes high in the second. I think he would fit most passing attacks. Whereas some others would have to be customized to the system.
