If the Bears had taken him he would have become another Hester or Knox, W.R.'s are wasted in the Bears O-Schemes history has proven this. I don't know how you can blame just the GM as we all should know by now the draft is done with several involved including the GM, head coach, draft scouts etc. and hind sight is 20/20 I would venture to guess just about every draft team would love to have a do over in some of their draft history if given the chance and knowing what they see a few years later. It's like eating a slice rhubarb pie and finding out later you could have had a slice of cherry pie.

beyond the qb's that would have been throwing to him; and the OC's calling plays, he would have had Daryl Drake teaching him...anyone really think that DD would have been able to teach Wes how to run a good route? If so, please explain seeing as in all his years here, he's had exactly 1 that seems to be able to do it.

And this is like the antithesis of what Jimmors was saying about Welker benefiting from being on the Pats playing with Brady. How much better might Hester or Knox be at this point in their careers if they'd had good coaching and a superior offense to play in?
I really can't figure out how Darryl Drake keeps his job when it seems we never have developed a really good WR under him and guys like Hester and Knox are still making stupid rookie mistakes in their 3rd years and beyond. I doubt Hester would ever have become anyone's #1 but could he have been a DeSean Jackson with better coaching?
I used to think it was just a lack of talent. That we drafted poorly at the WR spot. But when I see other players who were nowhere near All Americans in college and not even high draft picks doing as well as they do you have to wonder why. What makes a Victor Cruz become more successful than a Johnny Knox or Devin Hester.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

lack of coaching. I also wonder how DD has kept his job, he's flat bad at it. I wonder how good Bennett would be if he had adaquate coaching. Hester would not be a 1, but he'd be a decent 3, or 4. Knox would be...probably along the lines of a guy like Eddie Royal.

So we lose out on
Kurt Warner due to a spiderbite
Randy Moss due to oversleeping
Wes Welker due to not being better than Vasher at returning punts
Not that just three are indicative of ANYTHING, but I hope Emery gives a complete overhaul to the dumbass mistakes made over the years
