    The there is this list

I believe this is the complete list, a mix of superstars getting their big break and mediocre quarterbacks on excellent teams (in the case of Bradshaw perhaps both).

    • Roger Staubach backed up Craig Morton for the first few games of the 1971 season and the Cowboys won Super Bowl VI with Staubach.
    • Terry Bradshaw was in and out of the starting role his first few years. He lost the job to Joe Gilliam in the 1974 preseason but after re-taking it led the Steelers to victory in Super Bowl IX.
    • Jim Plunkett started out 1980 backing up Dan Pastorini and went on to win Super Bowl XV with the Raiders.
    • Doug Williams only started two games in 1987 and lost them both. Joe Gibbs made him the starter for the playoffs over Jay Schroeder anyway and he won Super Bowl XXII.
    • Jeff Hostetler took over for Phil Simms on the 1990 Giants after an injury (thanks Ben Rosenberg) and started each playoff game and Super Bowl XXV.
    • Trent Dilfer backed up (yikes) Tony Banks to start off 2000, but took over halfway through the season and rode Ray Lewis to victory in Super Bowl XXXV (thanks Kevin Gailey).
    • Tom Brady was the second-stringer for Drew Bledsoe in early 2001 but after Mo Lewis knocked Bledsoe out for the season Brady came back to win Super Bowl XXXVI (thanks Vivek Ponnaiyan).

Of this list, Brady began starting full-time in week 3, Dilfer in week 5, Plunkett in week 6, Bradshaw in week 7, Staubach in week 8, Hostetler in week 15, and Williams in the first round of the playoffs.

How true but he still had that "not tough enough" bullshit from the NFCC Game to live down. If Knox would have either worn the right cleats or they'd just stopped calling short slants to him which he never handles well anyway it doesn't happen either. Well, breaks of the game I guess but nobody will call him a pussy anymore, LOL.

I guess that Dilfer/Banks duo defeats the idea that you must have a franchise QB to win a SB. Actually the fact that Dilfer won one proves that you can be a total tool and have no idea WTF you're even talking about to be both a SB QB and a network analyst. He's one guy who I would love to see become the victim of a terrorist attack.

I know what u mean, but any fb player who thinks he has to ' live down' a bunch of bs, purposly created by a bunch of fuckin pussy sports-writers ought to have his head examined.
And have u noticed how , every month or two, one of these puds takes his turn and writes a negative column about him ? Gotta throw another log on the fire when it's about to go out eh. That way ( if it ever comes down to it ) they can say " we told u so ". What a bunch of assholes. ( but I digress ) - back to the thread ......
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?

    A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

There's gonna be some vet QB talent out there so we shouldn't have much problem finding one we like. I feel bad for Hanie because of how poorly it worked out for him and not all of it was his fault. I know he's a better player than that but he's not gonna be very highly thought of now.

The more I thought over that trade up using a 2nd the more sense I can see if the right guys are there. Reiff, Coples, and DeCastro are all can't miss guys who won't last much past ten if even that long. At least one or two should still be on the board at #10 which is about where we'd get to with our 2nd. Jackie posted another set of rankings that had Adams ranked at #18 and Martin at #20.

Carr is a classic example of a really good QB who's career was ruined by the team that drafted him then gave him NO linemen or weapons. Poor guy was shell-shocked.
