What do you think, guys? D'Brickashaw Ferguson would solve a lot of our problem at OT. I don't know how much that would interfere with us signing a WR, so I won't dive and fall in love with the idea or whatever.

I don't know. Soul, what's your take on this? You have an opinion for every season.

Yes, we should. He had a very down year after putting together three straight solid ones, so maybe he can come cheaper?

Just spring, summer, and fall. A fellas gotta take a break every now and then doesn't he?

If he even gets to FA I'd agree with Henry......F yes! Coming out of college this kid was one of the best LT's in the last decade. He hasn't missed a start in 6 seasons as the Jets LT and he's as good a pass blocker as you could ask for. He's young, athletic, the right size and he's a f'n choirboy as far as his character goes. Lovie would probably adopt him if we signed him.

Now the bad new. The Jets would be outta their freakin' minds to let him go. He's a walking franchise tag waiting to happen. I haven't visited their site or kept up with any news on him but I can't believe they'd ever let him hit FA. He's that good. You don't very often see guys like him hit FA and I'd be willing to bet he won't this year either but if he does you camp out on his doorstep with a checkbook and a contract in hand. He's a big league player.

D'brick would be nice. He would want starter money and Tice is NOT going to give up on this Webb experiment.

Where ya' been? We missed you. Evaluations are needed. We've covered all the ground between trading down to drafting Floyd or Adams to sending our second out the door for a chance to trade up to #10 or so.

For Ferguson he should. The need for a more experienced LT is there if only to provide backup. OMG has to go. So if the Jets let him go why not sign a guy who can actually push Webb out. Webb would make a great swing OT because he can play either side, OMG is history, we don't need to use a first round pick on an OT, and our pass blocking just improved by leaps and bounds. I doubt even Tice could effectively argue against that.

I thought this would interest you guys. Didn't Ferguson get FT'ed last year? I'm wanting to say that he did, but I'm not sure. I'll go look it up and see for sure.

The Most Overrated Players on the New York Jets

    D'Brickashaw Ferguson

The Jets rewarded their 2006 first-round pick with a contract extension before the 2010 season for his hard work. In 2011, Ferguson showed why he didn't deserve it.
Despite being paid as an elite left tackle, Ferguson played poorly, allowing 9.5 quarterback sacks in 16 games, the most on the team according to ESPN.
Considering Ferguson has the most important role on the offensive line—protecting his quarterback's blindside—he failed miserably. Quarterback Mark Sanchez fumbled the ball 10 times in 2011, losing eight of them to the defense.
The fact that he played in the Pro Bowl, a game for the best players in the league, is simply horrible. It may have been the most undeserved Pro Bowl spot this season. And it's the perfect reason to label him here as one of the most overrated players on the team.

(Dagan's note: It appears as if he signed some sort of deal in 2010 to keep him in New York with the Jets, so he may not be able to be labeled with the franchise tag this year. How does that work under the new CBA, anyway?)

False alarm. Dags he's signed through 2017. Where did you get the poop that he's an UFA???? No Hooters for you this week. You have a test of the available FA's coming up.
