Message: First beer's on us. Welcome to the board.
    1) Super Bowl commercials were TERRIBLE!! I only liked the M&M commercial, the rest were awful.

    2) The Giants are a well balanced, well run organization. They have the OL, the DL, the QB, the WR's, the RB's, the TE, the defense, etc, etc. Oh and I think their offensive coordinator is one of the best in the NFL today...a guy who plays to his players strengths, not just tries to make them play to his scheme. I have been very impressed with the NY Giants all season long to be honest. After yesterdays victory, I have to say that I'm a little jealous of that organization and the balance they have from top to bottom of their roster.

    3) The Patriots are still one of the best franchises in the NFL, hands down! Win or lose yesterday, we all know that they will have a chance to be back in the mix next season as long as Tom Brady is healthy. THAT is the type of team I expect the Chicago Bears to be!!

    4) Eli can now be considered "elite," but the posters who said he's better Tom Brady....YOU ARE NUTS!!

    5) NY Giants punter Steve Weatherford is a complete dumbass!! LOL. Did anyone else catch him celebrating a couple of his punts that landed inside the 20? He was acting like he just laid some unsuspecting WR out across the middle, LOL. EMBARASSING!!

    6) I really hope Lovie Smith and company paid close attention to that game...both teams have very good OL's, DL's, WR's and utilize TE's in the passing game with tons of success in doing so. I really hope Tice plans on bringing the TE back into the passing game and not just to help chip block for his consistently overmatched LT, Webb.

I thought the Clint Eastwood/Chrysler one was pretty good.

1.) Oh, you old grump, LOL. I actually liked the Dorito's cat killin Great Dane, and the Audi Vampires the best, but I also enjoyed the overweight dog and I too think the Dodge/Eastwood commercial was pretty good. I also think I'll spend the next 5 hours watching Jimmors link. That said, I agree that the creativity was lacking from last year. I miss the old, but clever Budweiser Clydesdale commercials. Where were they?

2.) I agree with every syllable in your #2.

3.) I agree with every syllable of your #3.

4.) Well, "NUTS" may be a bit harsh, but I agree that Eli is not quite up to Brady yet, however he is certainly progressing to that point nicely. I still don't think Brady would be as good if he played elsewhere, but he is still the gold standard for today's QB.

5.) Weatherford did Rock last night. The guy knows how to do his job and do it well.

    6.) Abso Freakin Lutely!

I liked all the ones you mentioned but I have to agree with 247 on the M & M commercial. LMAO!

Like 'em or not, the Flaming Lips know how to put on a hell of a show. Better than the NFL, at any rate.

I learned that if there's one person I would trade up for in this draft, it's Quinton Coples. Man, I ache for a pass rush like the Giants.

Yep, that was my first observation Pierre-Paul is another Julius Peppers. Similar size and similarly unstoppable when he cranks up his game. The Giants won that game the only way they could win it by frustrating Brady into playing just poorly enough for the win. Hope this settles that argument once again that defense wins championships.

Madonna's performance was a pretty flashy and well choreographed. That hire wire guy was astounding. From what I could see she lip synched the entire show. You can't move a mic around the way she did and keep the output consistent and the dancing and other choreography would leave her to breathless to do it live. That said, give me a live performance by a great band any day but her price was right. She did the whole show gratis.

Now to the other matters at hand. I contend we already have a Mario Manningham but we don't always use him right. Johnny Knox and Manningham are exactly the same size and both have the ability to make some difficult catches. Unfortunately they both also are inconsistent in their routes. Manningham made a circus catch that's true but on the series before Collinsworth was commenting on how he didn't give Manning the look he wanted because he ran his route poorly. Mario Manningham = Johnny Knox. Give me a Hakeem Nicks instead.

Consistency at LT also made a huge difference. Eli was pressured but got few hits and there always seemed to be a pocket he could throw from. Maybe it's not such a foolish idea to trade up far enough to get a Coples or a Reiff if they last long enough. A 2nd round pick would get us up to #10 or #11. Since we have an extra 3rd I'd give up a 2nd for a player who can come in and make an immediate impact.

Weatherford was on our "A List" for punters but we signed Podlesh instead. We came out alright there.

If we give him some tools Jay Cutler is every bit as good as Eli and maybe better because of arm strength. Two things that Eli has which Cutler doesn't. Better protection all around and Hakeem Nicks. There's a guy who can control the middle of the field and who demands constant attention. Manningham=Knox, and Cruz=Bennett but we lack a Hakeem Nicks. Colston maybe????

Defense, defense, defense, and an ability to control TOP and we can win a lot of games. One guy for us to keep and eye on when he becomes a FA after the 2013 season is Ninkovitch. If he can cover he'd make a good SLB.

NY did exactly what the needed to do to win that game. Get in Brady face and interrupt his game. He get's frustrated and begins making mistakes. The Giants had good pressure on him most of the game. When they didn't he drove right through them like he did on that one drive where he was 10-10. When Brady gets all the time in the World to throw he's unstoppable.

Great game though with a great ending. Bradshaw was an idiot but it did make for a more exciting finish.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.
