Free Agents
WR Mario Manningham [NY Giants] 5 years 25 million/13 guaranteed
The Bears need #1 and #2 WRs to go along with Earl Bennett at the #3 position. Manningham provides good speed, solid hands and elite routes to work on the outside and give Cutler a solid target that may never light it up but can contribute as a PROFESSIONAL WR.
CB Cortland Finnegan [Tenessee Titans] 4 years 24 million/14 guaranteed
The Bears need a #2 CB to play opposite of Charles Tillman in a division that is becoming a passing division. Finnegan is a physical player that is borderline dirty and can get in the face of Jordy Nelson and Nate Burelson.
OT Khalif Barnes [Oakland] 2 years 5 million/2 guaranteed
The Bears need a swing tackle that can back up at RT if Carimi is still injured and can step in at LT if Webb struggles. Barnes has played on both sides and has started at both positions while in the NFL and is a huge upgrade over Frank Omiyale.
LB Tavares Gooden [San Francisco] 2 years 3 million/1 guaranteed
A stand out special teamer and a LB that has been miscast in various 3-4 defenses. Gooden can contribute on special teams and provide depth and speed at the LB position.
QB Shaun Hill [Detroit] 2 years 4 million/2 guaranteed
The Bears need a veteran backup who can sheppeard this team to a single win in the event that Cutler gets hurt.
Re-signings
RB Matt Forte [4 years 34 million/18 guaranteed]
A must resign and the most dynamic playmaker that the Bears have.
TE Kellen Davis [1 year 2 million/1 guaranteed]
Give him another year to show that he has some value, but the Bears need to get more dynamic.
DE Israel Idoinje [2 years 6 million/ 2 guaranteed]
Idonije might not be the pass rusher that the Bears need across from Peppers he is a great run stuffer and a perfect rotational player.
CB D.J Moore [4 years 10 million/5 guaranteed]
Perfect for the defense and a true take away machine he should be resigned for the top level of what a nickel CB gets.
CB Corey Graham [3 years 6 million/3 guaranteed]
A valuable special teamer and has flashed a knack for the ball in limited defensive reps. The Bears should keep the special teams captain.
S Craig Steltz [2 years 2.5 million/1 guaranteed]
Steltz has been a consistent contributor and can hold up as a sport starter and a leader on special teams.
RB Khalil Bell [2 years 3 million/1 guaranteed]
Bell in my opinion has earned the right to be the primary back up, he runs hard and catches the ball well out of the backfield.
Draft
1[19] WR Alshon Jeffery [South Carolina] 6'4" 232lbs.
The Bears address the #2 WR position with Mario Manningham and now they add the big physical WR that can be the #1. Alshon Jeffery does not have elite speed or quickness, but he is a gigantic WR with expceptional hands that simply makes plays. Jeffery is not as slow as people think and he can run with guys like Larry Fitzgerald and as his route running improves he will look much faster. Jeffery has a similar game to Brandon Marshall.
2[50] DE Andre Branch [Clemson] 6'5" 265lbs.
The Bears need to continue to add pass rush to compete with the incredible passing attacks in the NFC North. Branch has the physical ability to comtribute early in his career and can be developed by Rod Marinelli.
3[74] OT/OG Kelechi Osemele [Iowa St] 6'5" 335lbs.
The Bears need to add depth on the OL and versatility that will allow Tice to make one of his fanous shuffles when Webb struggles at LT. Osemele is a huge prospect with long arms and solid, not great feet, and can play RT or OG. Osemele is a big nasty player and at the Senior Bowl he was attacking defenders.
3[80] S Antonio Allen [South Carolina] 6'2" 202lbs.
The Bears draft a safety in the 3rd round every year and they are getting close to putting together an impact tandem. Chris Conte has earned the job at FS, but the Major Wright injuries and inconsistent play forces the Bears to darft another player. Allen is an elite athlete who flies to the ball and makes important tackles.
4. TE Ladarius Green [Louisiana Lafayette] 6'6" 245lbs.
The Bears TE position was destroyed by Mike Martz and now they are behind the curve. The new NFL TE is a huge athlete that can catch the ball and Green is all of those things. Green is raw and may not be ready this season, but he can be developed while we see what we have in Kellen Davis.
5. LB Ryan Baker [LSU] 6'2" 236lbs.
The Bears LB core is aging and they need to start adding depth. Baker has the size and speed to have success in the Cover 2 and he has time to develop behind Urlacher and Briggs.
6. WR. B.J Cunningham [Michigan St] 6'2" 215lbs.
The Bears continue to add size to the WR core with Cunningham who can be a developmental possession WR and a special teams player
7. LB DeMario Davis [Arkansas St] 6'2" 232lbs.
The Bears continue to add depth to the LB core and add another player with speed that can play on special teams.
