Heck with MM. If we really want a guy to challenge or replace Knox then this is the guy we should be talking to. He disappeared so fast once Tebow got the starts that I forgot that he was a UFA this year. Better and cheaper than any other prospect you'd find for a #3 WR and Return Specialist position.

Look at his numbers in 2008 when Cutler was still here in Denver and imagine getting those two together again. This we can do Brandon Marshall we can't.

    ROYAL AT A GLANCE:
A fourth-year wide receiver who is one of two players in the NFL (New Orleans RB Darren Sproles) to post at least 2,000 yards from scrimmage and 2,000 return yards since 2008.

    • Registered 1,093 combined yards in 2010 en route to becoming the fifth Bronco in team history to post at least 1,000 combined yards in each of his first three NFL seasons.

Totaled a Broncos record for receptions through a player’s first two years with 128 and tied for the third-fastest in NFL history that a player reached 100 receptions (20 games).

Became just the second Bronco and 11th player in NFL history to return a punt (71 yds.) and a kickoff (93 yds.) for touchdowns in the same game at San Diego (10/19/09).

    • Earned All-Rookie honors from Pro Football Weekly/PFWA and The Sporting News after totaling the second-most receptions (91-980 yds., 5 TDs) by a rookie in NFL history with Denver in 2008.

Set Broncos rookie records in 2008 for receptions (91), receiving yards (980) and receiving touchdowns (5) while ranking sixth in the NFL with 1,829 combined yards that marked the third-highest total by a rookie in club annals.

Posted five plays of at least 50 yards for Denver in 2008 and became the first player since the 1970 NFL merger to record his team’s longest run (71 yds.), reception (93 yds.), kickoff return (95 yds.) and punt return (36 yds.) in the same year.

    • Became Virginia Tech University’s all-time leader in career all-purpose yards with 4,686—a total that included an Atlantic Coast Conference-record 1,296 punt return yards (11.7 avg.) along with 1,386 kickoff return yards (23.5 avg.).

    • Selected by the Broncos in the second round (42nd overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

I would be fine with either Mario Manningham or Eddie Royal, but to tell you the truth, I think Royal would be the more realistic option because of the fact that his numbers have steadily gone down over the years and that makes him a cheaper bet for the Bears to pick him up now that Manningham has a new claim to fame.

Well we probably don't don't need 5 little guys. That would be Royal, MM, Knox, Hester, and Sanz. We oughta get at least one guy over 6' and 190lbs.

Oh, I agree. I was assuming that Knox wasn't going to be able to come back and that we were going to go after a 6'2" or taller receiver. I don't want another version of Adolph Rupp's 1966 Kentucky Wildcat basketball team known as "Rupp's Runts."

    (A) Robert Meachem 6'2" 210lbs, Reggie Wayne 6' 208lbs, (B) Eddie Royal 5'10" 185lbs, Mario Manningham 6' 185lbs. Take one from column A and one from column B.

I would much prefer to look elsewhere for options. I will say, though, that Robert Meachem, who is a former Tennessee Volunteer, was a great player in his heyday here.
