Srsly, VJax, Allen and Manningham would give Cutler the best threats he's ever had..

Reports were that Jennings ended the season in Lovie's doghouse and I just don't see any way in hell that Graham returns, especially after he proved that when given the chance ON THE FIELD, that he can create turnovers and play well. Not to mention, he's a special-teams stud!!
Disagree with every single word here. Zach Bowman is not good at football. The guy got picked on worse than a fat ginger kid at prep school in his chances to step-in for Jennings this season.

I don't disagree with that at all, but how well would those threats be utilized with a sieve & penalty-machine starting at LT? There's the risk in this strategy.

Fair enough, but it would be worth trading back into the 1st to get Allen, if we got a quality LT at 19...

Now that is something I honestly wouldn't mind seeing Emery do. If we can move back 3, 4, 5 spots in the 1st round and also acquire another 3rd rounder perhaps, maybe a late 2nd rounder in the 2012 draft (possibly a future early round pick as well?) then I'm down!
Just looking at the mock drafts, it seems that most of the best players at positions like WR, OL, DE, and even CB will be long gone by the time we pick and I'd hate to see the Bears reach for a player, who they could snag at 23, 24 or 25.
Of course, a lot of this depends on the scouting combine this month in Indy. That's where players draft stock rises and falls the most and players like Alshon Jeffrey and Michael Floyd either prove that they deserve their 1st round consideration, or they watch their draft stock fall.
I really want this offseason to get started!! The NFL should start early this season IMO...especially after making us fans suffer last offseason!

Hell, maybe just Manningham would give Cutler the best threat that he's ever had...in a Bears uniform anyways.

I always said that if we would have had a decent QB coach we could have taught him to throw on his back. We could have been a contender....

I want absolutely no part of another first round TE. Some of you guys are so caught up in this "trend" of game-breaker TEs that you have totally lost grip of what we actually need as a team. Fuck the flashy, shiny new toy, of the league bullshit. Yeah, having an impact guy there is fun, but when it comes down to it, the league is still all about the trenches. Give me the impact in the trenches we all saw in the Giants, and THEN worry about the targets at the skills positions. Depending on what we do in FA, ie. re-signing Kellen, I wouldn't even want us to draft a TE PERIOD!

I keep saying it and I'll say it again MM doesn't bring anything we don't already have. He's an undersized #3 WR in the same mold as Knox but without Knox's deep speed. Everybody wants to be in love with this guy because he made a terrific catch in the SB. So did David Tyree the last time the Giants won the SB and he hasn't been in the league since 2009 and never caught a pass after 2007.
If we're trying to protect ourselves against Knox's inability to return then we should be going after Eddie Royal who has a very good history with Cutler when they were together in Denver and is a return specialist of Knox's caliber. Hell, we should be going after him anyway. He set all kinds of records here in Denver but just flat disappeared when Tebow took over at QB.
Eddie Royal would love to get out of that situation and hook up with Cutler again. If he stays here his career goes in the crapper because Tebow won't be able to throw the kind of routes he runs well. He comes to Chicago and gets Cutler's confidence again and he's gonna make some noise.

Yup. Not that Allen or one of the other TE's aren't good but it's like drafting another MLB right now. It's not first on the list. NY won because the kept Brady off his timing all game long with the exception of one drive and the did it with a relentless pass rush. If we can't find a great pass rusher when it's our pick then for God's sake take a LT.
If we can't block for Cutler and we don't improve our pass rush we ain't gonna do jack shit once we get into the playoffs. The Giants ground GB down with that same pass rush the used to beat NE. If we want to beat GB we have to beat Aaron Rodgers and we can't do that when he's runnin' around with all day to throw. We need a better pass rush and what's out there in FA is limited and very expensive.
If we can get a Mario Williams or Cliff Avril in FA fine maybe we can let DE slide a little farther down the list but if not that's one area we need to look at. The DE prospects look a lot better than the WR prospects to me.
