Signing Cowboys last year didn't work out too good so Bennett scares me a bit, but physically he has the size & athleticism to be a great TE. I just hope Emery gets the right guys. Combine starts in a few weeks & FA a few weeks after that. Man I'm looking forward to this offseason more than I have in years!

We only got a third, because we weren't gonna keep olson anyway. Well, since Martz is our OC anyway.
I think the dumb thing about the Olsen trade was doing it with Martz essentially a lame duck OC. After he turned down that extension it was 50-50 AT BEST that he's be here in 2012. Olsen was a late first round pick and we got a high third. That's not too bad. We would never have done much better than that anyway. Maybe we sneak a trade 10 or 12 spots higher but that's a big if.
I think Davis has shown some signs of being as good a pass catcher and he's a far better blocker. What he needs is consistency and maybe if he plays more we'll see it. To me being a TE in as Mike Martz offense is pretty schizo. You don't know from one game to the next or even one play to the next what you are. A blocker, a receiver, a decoy or whatever so you have to stay prepared for all of it. I think Tice will try to make him into our Gronkowski. He has the size and the athlecticsm to do that.
One good thing about that high 3rd is that this draft has a lot of value picks down in that range but it thin on value at the top of the draft. That pick gives us some flexibility to either trade up for exactly the guy we want or simply stay put knowing there will be good players who can fill spots we need youth or depth at.

RicazJ, I'm pretty sure that when they are talking about standing pat on the o-line they are only referring to the interior linemen. I.E. RG, LG, and Center. Thanks for posting these Soul.

Anyone right now would be a better fit at LT than Webb or OMG. I know of one player from Cincinnati who plays LT that will be a free agent, though his name escapes me a the moment. Perhaps he is someone we could turn to for assistance.
Ya, I saw that afterward, but I stand by my statement. The team needs more talent and depth. Even a Center to challenge Garza would be nice. I stated in another thread, and it's a good place to put here too, get challege at all positions from the top down not the bottom up. None of the G's/C's are elite at their job, so no we're not good at it Dagan; we're merely better then at the other positions. Think I saw in another thread someone posted that CWill and Louis(or spencer) were in the mid 20's in the NFC(not even the whole nfl) in ranking of G's, so we aren't "good". We need quality, not just bodies.
