Great points there and if the price is right I think it's a no-brainer, anything on this planet would be better than Roy Williams, sure Moss would not be the solution but you have to account for him every time he lines up and that helps right there.
Another point about going to the Bears is that they are laden with veteran leadership and I think Moss would do better around established vets like Peppers, Briggs, Urlacher, Cutler, rather than going to a younger team. And let's face it everyone that plays for Lovie for lack of a better term loves it. He's a "player's coach" which to translate means he stands in practices and meetings just like he does on Sundays and never gets in your face.
soulman say BEAR DOWN!
Exactly what I was thinking. There's more leadership on the defensive side of the ball but those guys won't put up a whole lot of shit from anyone. Even RWill played it cool and kept his profile much lower than usual. With Tice running the offense and Cutler staring to "come of age" those two coupled with Forte, who's proving to be anything but shy over his contract, may be enough to keep him productive this year.
After looking at the price tags on the few top FA's if he's cheap and plays only have as well as he used to he'd still be an upgrade on the cheap.
Draft a Badger. They're mean little critters. Honey Badger Don't Care. Honey Badger Don't Give a Shit.

Agree.
Completely disagree. As I said before, Cutler and Lovie are no Brady and Belichick. Moss was surrounded by Super Bowl winners in New England and went 18-0 before the Giants beat them in SB 42. Yet he went on to wear out his welcome by taking plays off and being Moss.
Keep in mind, I love the guy and I was pissed when the Vikings, ahem, Childress, cut Moss. With that said, Moss is what he is. Sadly, that's a malcontent. And if a team laden with veterans that won a Super Bowl can't make him happy while he's setting the record for TDs in a season and going 16-0.... I really don't think the Bears will make him happy either.
I have a feeling he just misses the NFL and wants to return. Play for a good team with the need of WRs is a good addition. If he fails and looks disinterested all the time, cut him.
Stephen Hill has a ton of upside, but he is a risk, so here is a plan that would allow us to make safe picks around him and take a risk on a high upside player.
This is tough for me because for so long I have just wanted JA to make a safe pick and screw upside. But as Soul and I have been discussing in another thread some of the best value in the NFL at WR is not in the 1st round and Hill looks like that type of player. Of the 2nd-3rd round rated players at WR to me he has a real chance at becoming a #1 WR.
An idea
Sign
WR Robert Meachem
CB Aaron Ross
OT Khalif Barnes
Draft
1[19] C Peter Konz [Wisconsin] 6'5" 320lbs
A guaranteed starter and as close to a sure thing for the Bears as David DeCastro.
2[50] WR Stephen Hill [Georgia Tech] 6'5' 210lbs.
The Bears make a safe pick and now take a risk with Hill who has the big potential. Similar to the John Baldwin pick in the 1st last season only a more raw prospect.
3[74] DE Cam Johnson [Virginia] 6'3" 275lbs.
A pass rush prospect that can combine with Izzy.
3[80] CB Leonard Johnson [Iowa St] 5'10" 205lbs.
A potential starting calibre Cover 2 CB with physicality, his pinstripe bowl vs Sanu was fun to watch.
4. WR A.J Jenkins [Illinois]
Hill might not contribute early, but Jenkins should provide valuable depth and reps.
5. LB Demario Davis [Arkansas]
A developmental LB that can run.
6. TE Chase Ford [Miami]
A developmental TE in case David does not resign or develop.
7. LB Chris Gallipo [USC]
A special teams player and possible developmental MLB.
On the topic of drafting Peter Konz, I think a lot of services are projecting that the Packers are likely to take him because of the great possibility that due to cap restraints (i.e. - The Packers are close to the cap limit), they will lose their Pro Bowl C Scott Wells (a Tennessee alum!). While I'm more for drafting Mike Adams or Jonathan Martin should they come available at pick #19, the concept of drafting Konz, another product of the University of Wisconsin offensive line machine is attractive, if for anything because it would be sort of like addition by double subtraction in that we draft a C while the Packers lose out on the opportunity to draft one plus they lose their Pro Bowl C that they have so coveted for years.
