I don't know much about his play of late, but would he be a good FA pickup?

Neck and back injuries lately. IF healthy is obviously an upgrade over Webb. But that's a big if. Risky - pass . If a very strange set of circumstances occurs, could be signed as a last resort.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

Home grown boy but had an injury end his season last year and contract issues in 2010 caused him to lose 4 or 5 games on a holdout. Still made it as a Pro-Bowl alternate though and has every year from 2006 through 2010. Don't know what his injury situation is now but SD would need to release him since he's not a FA until 2016. That's not all that unlikely since he has a huge cap number this year and if he's still injured or won't renegotiate his deal could be a cap casualty. Has he been released Henry?
Bottom line is if he's not injured and available we should be nosing around him. Emery would be fairly familiar with him since KC played against him twice a year. Based on his last deal though $$$ could be an issue. He's an $8 mil per year guy. That $24.5 guarantee tells me they won't let him go if they have to pay him.

I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Yes, please.
AU boy, so I would love to have him on my favorite team.
Everything i've read indicates he's going to be released before due whatever bonus

That's always possible but unless Spotrac is wrong, and they seldom are, the contract he signed guaranteed him $24.5 mil. If that's the case I don't know how they can release him and get around paying him unless what they characterize is salary is some sort of roster bonus instead. If that guarantee is inaccurate they still show his 2012 compensation as 100% salary. There's no other cash bonus listed and he's already been paid his SB so that $298.5k is just the amortization of the SB for cap purposes.
But if he is somehow released, and he's healthy then hell yes we should be interested. He'd be a huge upgrade over Webb right now. I just haven't seen or read anything that says they're releasing him yet.

I read also on the San Diego Tribune that he's gonna get cut if he can't pass a physical 3 days after the FA period starts. Sounds like he signed a crappy contract. I think he's worth signing, if not for this year, for at least a few years to come.

Given that he's coming off a bad injury, unless there's an idiotic race for his services, he should come with a very manageable price tag. Doubt it's too cheap, which is why is why they've called him a gamble
