If not - short leash.
I would imagine that Ted Phillips and George McCaskey would have some say as to what Emery would do in a situation where Lovie Smith botched a season. Lovie is popular in the front office, even with Emery. That's why I think he would be willing to let things slide with Lovie. He does have experience working with him from his previous stint in Chicago.
