This draft is not strong at the LT position.
Outside of Kalil major question marks have started to crop up about everyone Rieff [Arm Length], Martin [Strength/Physicality] and Mike Adams [Work Ethic, Feet] who is having a rough combine.
I think the Bears should sign a guy like Anthony Collins or Khalif Barnes to take over for Frank and push Webb with the threat of replacement.

This is just the same "Smoke & Mirrors" that we should be used to by now.

That may apply to politics , but when it comes to fb I will again quote Bill Parcells and one of his favorite sayings,
" When a player SHOWS you who he is, BELIEVE HIM ".
If Lovie and Tice want to tie their futures to this guy then good luck. The anchor that will fall overboard and drag them down with it.
I can see it now. Cutler will get sacked for the 4th time in the first half by Webb's man and he'll get up and say " Tell Tice I said fuk him !"
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

Now I hope this gets Lovie Smith fired. This is totally unacceptable. To rely on a T who has allowed more sacks over the past two seasons than any other OT in the league is foolhardy. Soul, I'm officially joining the 4th and 26 Corps. I want Lovie Smith fired for this outrageousness!

That is an attitude that has been perpetuated, but if you watch him, he is average at best and he misses critical blocks often. The kid is just not very good and the sooner our staff see's what fans see the better we'll be. I have joked before that Webb grew up in Mesquite, Texas, only 90 miles from Lovies home town of Big Sandy, TX before, and that is why Webb has been given so many chances. Yes, it has been a joke, but man, what does this kid have that Lovie and Tice Love so much?
I don't think it's a joke brother I think there's truth to it. Why has another Texan, Darryl Drake, keep his job. Lovie likes to feel comfortable and for whatever reason Drake must make him feel that way. As for Webb, I'll learn to live with him one more year but if he's not at least 50% better by opening day I'd have plan B stacked shelf, unwrapped and ready for the checkout line. He has all the time in the world to improve with OTA's, training camp and preseason games. If he's not "getting it" by then he never will and it's time to get the hook.
Wonder if we could use the "Ban Hammer" on him?

Maybe I missed something along the way. But I didn't read where Lovie said anything like Webb is our starting LT.

I took "part of future" to mean he's gonna play JJ. Usually when Lovie says in the third person, "we like him", it means the guy he's referring to will play but no, he didn't come right out and say it directly. I'm kinds imputing that from his past history with Rex when he said things similar to this every time someone question Rex's ability to lead the team.

When your right your right I can't count how many times I, as well as others have asked "Why in the hell is he playing"
most of the time it been some player past his prime while a rookie just keeping the bench keeping it warm. Its nice in most cares to have a team or coach come out saying how good a player is playin, unless those words are coming out of Lovies or in the past JAs mouth. If you look closly to at the rookies on the Bears sidelines they are not praying for the Bears to win, they are sitting praying to their God that something will happens to the vet and they will have a chance to show what then can do betther. not only for themselfs but also the the Bears.

Sometimes that's true. Example : in 2000 when Urlacher was drafted, Jauron decided Rosey Colvin and Barry Minter were better and they started ahead of him. Wasn't until Minter got injured that Lach became the starting MLB. I'd call that a miss by the coaching staff ... but luckily it didn't last long. Sometimes, the better practice player, isn't the better gameday player.
Is there a player like this on the Bears right now ? I'd probably doubt it, but who knows. Some guys never really get their chance for whatever reason.

Soul,
What exactly is a plausible "Plan B" in your mind?
There doesn't appear to be any LT help in the draft for us (none that could help this year anyway). So are you talking about signing a FA or moving Carimi or what? Curious as your specific thoughts...
