I'm ok with his idea of maulers except for one position- LT , where feet ( the ability to mirror and pass block ) is more important than a mauler. He can have them at every other position NOT LT - which is what I hope Emery has the balls to say to him. Guess 6'06 / 305 isn't big enough - 30lbs heavier and then he's fine right ? Cept one problem- with the added weight the mf can't move his feet well enough now to be an effective pass blocker.

SO THE RUNNING GAME BETTER BE AWESOME !!!!! ( if he's gonna put all of his eggs in one basket ).

Isn't this the team that says it wants a SPEED rusher at right end ? And this is what most other teams have at this position correct ? And the Bears way of solving SPEED rushers ....( let that sink in for a second)... is to have a S L O W-footed mauling clodhopper dimwit manning the LT position. Rather than drafting someone who's : 'smart' (+1) competitive (+2) with good feet (+3 ) who's a 3yr starter at the position (+4 ) by all accounts had a great season (+5 ) and actually plays the game better , tougher, with passion and with more tenacity then is mentioned (+6 ) ........... than what these scouts are giving him credit for.

    But he's ONLY 6'06 - 305 ( not 335 ) therefore he doesn't quit fit the cookie cutter " analysis".

( can anybody tell me what the qualifications are to become a 'draft expert" ? Whaddya ~ need a laptop and some made-up web site that other people (who don't know you and have never heard of you) can go on and read the ' analysis' ? Huh !? Any of these clowns ever offer up their extensive resume's as to how they became scouts or 'draft experts' ? C'mon I wanna hear it )!

Love the rant Blue! Honestly, I'm not sure that I agree with your opinion about Martin specifically (not saying I disagree either, just not as informed about him as you are), but I most certainly agree with your logic. I also agree with your assessment of scouts, although I will say, I think O-Line is one of the hardest position groups to accurately scout and assess individual talent. All that said, I love your passion baby! I am so sick of O-Line experimentation.

Let me ask you one question though. This is an honest question, I'm not trying to bait you are anything. How do you stack Martin up against the scouting reports of Chris Williams when he came out? This concerns me. I always hate when people compare guys to other players without consideration for the fact that they are completely different people, but I'm strictly asking about scouting player types and styles, not individual comparisons.

I have a feeling that you are right unfortunately. I've been thinking the same thing for a while now.

Yes. and if you consider you have to Commit 330lbs of Webb plus 240+lbs of TE to defend a position that "athleticism" is needed it exposes the "bigger is better" theory. Louis with his actual athleticism would even be a better option than Webb Omiyale or some "road grater" in the draft as of right now.

    Nice post BHS

JMO but from watching them Martin's feet are quicker , he hand fights better, and he slides better. But ur right they are similar. Thing is, better is better - and if that means Cutler gets the extra 1/2 second to get a throw off, many times that makes all the difference in the world.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?

    A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

Tks. Yea I admit i was slightly riled when i posted that. Some posts sound like drones repeating what they've heard from other drones - and it gets disgusting when some scout says something like Perry wore Martin out when ( if u watch the game ) it's a statement that couldn't be further from the truth. Yet, people take it and run with it .... like they've got the undisputed truth.

Bear's are gonna pick the guy who can jump out of a pool's deep end,
while playing Amazing Grace on a violin.
'The best player available', regardless of position, NFL ready or not, special project...etc,.
