Tice wants to play his five best and CWill is one of them so do we move him back to LT again?
problem is since day 1, hurt is his mo. he's played 16 games once, 13 once, 9 and of course his rookie year 0(b/c of injury). That's not a great stat line for your future LG.

The injury/health concerns have been well documented.

But if the Bears want to be a vertical downfield passing team like Mice Tice has run in the past they need to get better pass blocking in the middle of the OL.

LG as a pass protector almost becomes more important than the LT because we are going to need Cutler to step up into a clean safe pocket and get the ball deep.

I love CWill as a run blocker, but as a pass protector he is very replacable.

I'll grant you that CWill has missed some games but the initial injury was one he came in the door with. If we wanted to avoid that one we never should have drafted him to begin with so I can't hold that against him and neither should anyone else. Angelo made that pick knowing that he had a back problem.

Last years injury was pretty freak, just like Urlacher's was. It wasn't a recurrence of an old injury so I'm hesitant to call the guy injury prone yet. I have no problem with us upgrading if that's what we're really doing but I do not buy into any criticism of CWill for run or pass blocking. If he had finished the season playing as he had the first 8 games he would have been a candidate for the Pro Bowl.

I'm sure this is an unpopular viewpoint but most of these guys (including OMG) played on a line that as good enough for us to finish 11-5 in 2010 and we probably would have done as well in 2011 had Cutler not gone down. I'm not saying we can't improve but let's not throw the baby out with the bath water okay?

That or put it in a bag on your neighbor's porch and light it on fire. Is Green Bay looking for an OT?

I have a question for you research guru's about CWill. Over the last 4 years, how many games has he played at LT and how many at RT?

This is a legit question, as I cannot seem to find this data anywhere. I'm trying to determine just how much of a true opportunity he has had playing the position he was drafted for in comparison to a certain 7th round pick that our coaches seem to be enamored with. It seems to me that CWill has been shuffled around so much and never given an opportunity to succeed at the LT position that he was drafted for, at least not as much as Webb has and that is curious to me.

It also seems logical that if he (CWill) has improved so much at LG, that perhaps his pro game has advanced to the point that he would also be improved at LT, especially if we could land a Ben Grubbs to play next to him. Lets remember that he was widely rated as the 3rd best LT coming out in the 2008 draft, which esentially makes him the Martin of this draft. Lets also keep in mind that he only put up 21 in the combine bench (I know, it means nothing, but by contrast, it does mean something). Perhaps the reason he has progressed at LG is that he has become much stronger over the last four years, and the game has slowed down for him. Some of the same quickness that he shows in pulling and sealing as well as sliding and picking up DL stunts would transistion well back to his previous LT position.
The Greatest form of revenge is MASSIVE success.
