Favor ? Who's "favor" ? Once again the media puts ITSELF up on a pedestal. And the logical deduction is : the media's mad at you - so ur not gonna draft well and ur not gonna have a good football team. Wow, just wow.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

Maybe the best way to handle these media types would be to have Phillips walk on out there and talk to the press about the Bears draft Philosophy......
"Well, we're planning on being a run first team so we're going to try to draft a running back.... No we aren't planning on resigning Forte, or using the Franchise tag... Either would cost too much...." After this, he should be able to say pretty much anything (even the truth!) and it should be discounted...
my 2 cents.
"Professional Armchair Quarterback" and other oxymora.....

The whole article is a non-issue except to the beat writers themselves who use it as a pulpit to voice their displeasure. Their job is to find something about the Bears to write about. Emery's job is not necessarily to spoon feed then upon request. They'll get over it.

I dont think its that. I think its a case of media thinking they are more important then they actually are. They get to "rank" college teams, select Hall of Famers...so they have these delusions of grandeur where they think their OPINIONS matter more then the game itself. It truly is quite sad. Theyve gone from being reporters that simply reported events, to journalists who believe their opinions shape sports.

Yet another article proving why athletes should be athletes and journalists should be journalists.
