DE Kamerion Wimbley to be released by Raiders
Dickerson and Wright @ESPNChiBearsRaiders to cut Kamerion Wimbley if he does not restructure deal, per @JasonLaCanfora. Would give Bears another pass rusher to explore in FA.
NO question I would sign him.
You cannot just look at the sack numbers he is so disruptive and causes so many problems in the passing game.
He puts more unrecorded pressure on QBs than anyone I have seen in the last couple of seasons.

Sounds good on the surface but it's the Raiders. Does this guy have any on or off the field issues?

I know in the past Lovie has really like this guy and we went after him when he was traded to the Raiders.
I wonder how much less than Avril he will be looking for and whether he wants to come to Chicago.
I would offer 5 years 30-35 million to him because of how disruptive he is in the passing game.

He's certainly worth some consideration but he won't hold a candle to a guy like MWill. This guy is an upgrade and MWill is a dominator and that's a whole different story. And QB pressures are a recorded stat so why wouldn't he be getting credit for them?

I like him, could be very nice, but is he an every down 4-3 DE? I think he has mostly been used as a OLB in a 3-4 hasn't he? Maybe I'm thinking of someone else. I don't see a lot of Raider games, and I never watched the Browns much (for reasons that should be obvious).
That said, he is a football player.

Sad to say it, but the problem with the Raiders has always been Al Davis. He was living in another decade, where he believed in loyalty to players he drafted, gave them way too much money, instead of using FA like he shouldve. Reggie McKenzie is really shaking the raiders up and changing how they do business, which is actually exactly what they need.

Yep, he's a DE size LB so we don't know how well he plays from a 3 point stance. Lot of difference between playing with your hand and the ground compared to a 2 point stance. Let's no screw around maybe. Sign the big guy. If TE's are in vogue right now so are DE's. Mario Williams for President!!!

Wimbley has always played a hybrid position and he has had his hand down a lot especially in Cleveland.
I think if we cannot get M Williams, Wimbley is the next best option as Avril looks like he is getting tagged.

Does this mean you're on board with going after Mario? With the right contract structure in place, of course.*

Mario Williams would be my #1 target of any free agent to hit the open market.
He is the most dominant player who will be a free agent by a wide margin.
I do not think we will have the financial power to pull of the deal and make the best offer. There are teams that have 40 million in cap space and will have no problem out bidding us.
