Drafting Stephen Hill at 19?
Assuming Michael Floyd and Justin Blackmon are not available at 19.
We are stuck in an interesting place with Stephen Hill who at this point has incredible upside and potential, but is very light on production. If we signed a 2nd tier WR like Garcon, Manningham or Meachem how would you feel if we drafted Stephen Hill?

Potential and raw and w/o a coach that can mold him. If we had a guru (or anyone other than Drake) I think it would be ok to pop on this guy but as it stands it's better to make 2nd or 3rd round gambles at wr.

Does your opinion change if the Bears were able to trade down and secure an extra 2nd/3rd round pick?

It would some yes but it would be far better to replace Drake. Did he ever return kicks?

I definitely wouldn't want to grab him at 19. Maybe late in the 1st, though. What kind of picks could we get if we completely traded out of the 1st round into the early 2nd? Would Hill possibly be available still in the early 2nd?

I trust Drake can fully develop Hill based on his past accomplishments lol

Most people think that Hill will go late 1st to Houston, New England or SF.
I am not a Drake fan, but we have never given him a talent like Hill to develop. Bill Walsh could not have turned Devin Hester into anything so I can't attack him for that.

I have never even seen Drake even modify slant route tech. A sign of a good coach is who can do the most with the least. If we are going to draft a wr how about one who already has the most proficient tech. this way Drake can't coach him down or give him too many bad habits.

If we traded down and secured Hill I'd like to trade back up and have multiple picks in the higher rounds, grab some starting quality players across the board. With Meachem, Garcon, and Bennett I'd be pretty confident in the Bears passing game, maybe it'd be worth picking up someone with so much upside. I know a lot of people don't like Alshon Jeffery but if his Pro Day is even average and he drops into the second he would be at amazing value there, IMHO. If the Bears think they could get him to work his play on the field speaks for itself, I know he got ejected his final game but I'm pretty sure he was also killin it against a top CB.*

Seeing how the Bears are in the market for a TE, and both of the best are gonna be second round talents, i wouldn't be surprised if we trade down, hopefully draft allen from Clemson, and an offensive line with the other 2nd. Hopefully we get a third third out of that, and just go BPA...
