Draft :The Back Half - Rds. 5-6-7

WR - Travis Benjamin 5'09 175 4.3dash : Obviously not a starting wr ( tho has done ok there good hands good rac ) but excellent option as KR/PR who has blazing speed and looks the part.

WR- Lance Lewis 6'03 210 : Big solid possession receiver who has good hands, fights for the ball and loves to block ala Hines Ward.

WR- Greg Childs 6'03 217 : See above

QB- Russell Wilson 5'11 210 : Plus athlete who can develop. Smart, steady, accurate, can run. Would take time but could become a quality reserve QB who won't "lose" the game if pressed into service. Steve Fuller with more athleticism.

QB- Case Keenum 6'02 210 : Prolific passer with good feet and pocket awareness. Leadership traits.

CB- Desmond Marrow 6'03 210: Plus range, good ball skills, willing tackler.

CB- Donnie Fletcher 6'01 195: Plus instincts, plus tackler, natural cover 2 corner.

DE- Scott Solomon 6'03 262 : 24sacks. Quick, very athletic, high motor end, good hand fighter, plays fast but under control.

OLB- Brett Roy 6'04 280 : 10 sacks . Good athlete who will need work.

If we end up filling the other holes in 1-4 then CB and LB depth would be a smart move here and maybe a lineman. I'm not big on taking a QB this year. I'd like to see us pickup a better #2 and let McCown and Hanie compete for #3. Mike Martz did Caleb Hanie a huge disservice last year because he failed to put him in good situations to win. Hanie is a better QB than he showed under Martz.

I have to disagree we already have a young QB Nathan Enderle that is still under contract, and we really can't say much about since we haven't seen what he can do. So why would we want to draft another 6th or 7th round QB. What we need is a veteran. If we keep McCown that's fine with me or if we go out and get another veteran QB that's also fine with me. But we don't need to waste another draft pick on a QB that we will only see play during the pre-season. And as far as Hanie goes he doesn't have a contract with the Bears and the Bears have no reason to want to resign the guy.

Depends on what they really think of Enderle. If they think he can be decent then fine keep him. But if they're looking to upgrade the talent to create better depth and they think a Case Keenum is better, then why not draft him and put Enderle on the developmental team. An upgrade is and upgrade. The Browns are thinking about drafting RG3 even tho they already have McCoy aren't they ? And who would u rather have Keenum or Enderle ? Keenum is considered the more talented of the two in most opinions. Actually I don't see it as a wasted draft choice just becuz we drafted a QB last yr and it'd be a late rounder anyways. Most of these guys don't contribute much for a few years ( if at all ) anyways. And who's more important, a QB , or some backup DE or safety who never sees the field ?

Whatever we do we need an experiences vet as a backup. It wasn't Caleb Hanie's lack of talent that did him in it was Mike Martz's offense and his lack of experience running it. We no longer have Martz's offense so the need for Josh McCown to be around to run it is gone. He can stick around and try to win a spot but we need to do better than him to start with.

If we can get a solid #2 guy I'd wouldn't have a serious problem with drafting a rookie QB at the end of the draft. It's not a need but than neither is a 3rd string Safety to play Special Teams for two years until he gets cut. The Packers used to draft QB's every year looking for diamonds in the rough and they found a few. Even if you can't use them eventually they may get you a pick or two in trade. Mostly it's about the decision of whether to draft or just bring in an UDFA.
