On my top 10 FA list. He'd slide in our system like a glove.

Best case, Briggs has backed off his trade demand, Hawthorne comes in as a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE upgrade over Roach at SLB and gives us leverage in future negotiations with Lance.

I want a Super Bowl XX score if we face the Colts again. Revenge is sweet.

    Ben Grubbs - G - Ravens
The Baltimore Sun reports the Ravens have made "what both sides acknowledged" was a substantial offer to impending free agent LG Ben Grubbs.

According to the Sun, "all indications" are that there is not "much leeway" to expand on the offer. If Grubbs turns it down, he's almost certainly headed to the open market. Unless he finds his market unexpectedly depressed by the presence of fellow free agent LG Carl Nicks, Grubbs will likely be moving on from Baltimore.

Yes, please. In Seattle Hawthorne has been the most consistent tackler for three straight seasons.

Hawthorne would be a great pickup. We need more experience at LB than just the guys we have backing up. Hawthorne can take over from Roach at SLB and is also a hedge against the need to ship Briggs somewhere if his contract problems start brewing again.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

@michaelombardi: Expect QB Jason Campbell to visit the Bears soon--they are working on a deal.

He would be a more than ideal backup!!!
