Thread: What I would do

For those that are still using that $28 to $30 million range of cap space, keep in mind that we no longer have that. With the Tag of Forte (even assuming we reach a deal with him, it will still likely cost that much for this year, or close to it), we now have roughly $20 to $22 Mil. Now, we will probably also resign a couple of our own, like Izzy, Okoye, Graham, etc. We also have to have some cash for our rookie pool, but that is much smaller than it used to be. So the reality is, we will only have about $12 to $15 Mil to spend on new FA's. I know there is some other gerrymandering we can do with re-working contracts, etc, but that will likely only squeeze another $2 to $3 mil into our cap (if we're lucky) and they are saying the cap is going to be lower than expected.

Bottom line is I do not know how we could even come close to some of the moves that are being projected around here. If we were to sign MWill, he would likely be the only new face we get in FA. Same goes with Nicks and V-Jax. We may be able to squeeze a second tier guy, but a BIG splash will more than likely be the ONLY splash, and if there are ripples, they will be small. I like the Royal idea as he could be one of those serviceable ripples, but there is no way we are getting more than one big name.
