    What I would do

    FA:

    Garcon
    Colston
    Nicks

    Draft:
    DeCastro
    BP on the offensive line
    Clemson's TE
BPA the rest of the way

Simple, and gets a few things done. 1, our receiving situation, not a ******** issue anymore, and 2, our offensive line is gonna be strong, if only on the right side, which if so, so ***** be it. We need our RBs to be able to punch it in, not rely on stupid trick plays....

If that was our free agency then I don't know about spending the first two picks on offensive line. I'd wanna bolster the pass rush somewhere early cause at times it was nonexistent.*

Nicks is an LG and will most likely be freakin' expensive. Judging from the amount of smoke being blown onto the sports media landscape, more than half of the teams in the NFL are interested in him (for good reason), so it could be a bidding war.

Bears could strike early (Peppers). Would be nice.

About that, a lot changed after Cutler went down. The main part was that the defense was starting to wear down at a faster pace than they did in streaks of bad games all the way back to 2004. That's most likely because of how old it's getting to be, but if we improve the offense, they get the rest they need, and aren't the backbone of the team anymore, because it really is time for the offense to start going 50/50, because the D just doesn't have it anymore to bring an A game with a horrible Quarterback...

I think that's a good point and strategy. Our D is aging and needs more rest, but still plays hard yet wears out fast. Therefore bumping up our O will take some of the burden off of the D, allowing them to still be effective.

With that being said, I would do something similar. I don't think M.Will will be avail. He will stick with Houston as they were contenders last year even through injuries.

    Get okoye and graham re-signed.

    FA:
    Wayne
    Meachum
    (Possibly Nicks)

    Draft:
    Bpa all the way through.

Nicks is a totally senseless acquisition not only because of his cost but because you're then gonna spend your first round pick on another OG. What do you propose to do with all the OG's we have now. Try to trade them? LOL

Then two WR's, one of whom has already turned down a $35/5 year offer from his own team and another with knee problems. Then in the 2nd you draft a TE? I don't think Garcon is worth a $40 mil deal and that's about what it would take. May as well get VJax then.

Sorry Henry but I yet to see in all of the Mocks and what have you including Windy's twelve versions and counting a worse strategy that that. Tell me, who do you really root for? The Packers or the Lions? That makes no sense at all.

So I'll make it simple too and cover our most needed bases. Maybe this is a dream but you're is a nightmare. Sorry to disagree so vehemently but it's a ridiculous plan given our needs. Please don't take this personally.

    Free Agents:

DE Mario Williams (with fall back positions; Mincey, Freeney if released)
WR Eddie Royal (best bang for the buck)
WR Robert Meachem (speed, upside and experience)

Draft if we can accomplish that in FA:

1st pick; Steven Hill, Luke Kuechly, Nick Perry
2nd pick: Nick Toon, Marvin McNutt, a CB, an OT or OG (depends a lot on who we take in one and who is still on the board)
3rd pick: Whatever we didn't cover of the above
    4th pick: Same

With 4 picks over three rounds we can cover youth at WR and DE, a CB or a LB, and an OT or OG.

I've covered as many of our needs as I can. At least one pass rusher, at least 2 WR's, an OG or OT, a LB or CB,
and possibly a rookie DE and another WR in the draft.

I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

I'm sorry but I'm at a loss to understand this "plan".

I'd love to snag DeCastro under certain circumstances but that would definitely not include signing Nicks. That would have to be biggest inefficient use of FA dollars I could imagine.

The TE class in this draft is WEAK. Why draft one in the 2nd no less is beyond me. Let's let KDavis and Smith show what they have first. We have far more pressing needs than then the Clemson guy.

There is zero help here for the pass rush either.

    How about (approx equivalent $):

    FA
    Mario Williams (DE)
    Meacham or Wayne (flanker WR)
    Royal (slot WR)

    Draft
    1. DeCastro or Glenn or Kuechley or Konz (w/ possible trade down + extra 3rd round pick for Konz)
    2. CB or WR (Gilmore, Norman, McNutt, Quick)
3a. CB or WR (Gilmore, Norman, McNutt, Quick)
3b. LB depth or OT prospect (Cole or Robinson or Davis or McCants or Potter or Moseley)
3c. LB depth or OT prospect (Cole or Robinson or Davis or McCants or Potter or Moseley) *[possible trade down extra pick]
    4. Safety? (Trumaine Johnson or Winston Guy, etc.)
    5-7. Carte blanche BPAs

It's all good conjecture and I don't get tired of it. I appreciate everyones insight even though not all agree 100% of the time but I think many of us get about 90%.

    I think I would go
    FA Royal, Meachum (Soul's idea)

    Windy's best idea imo:

    1[19] DE Nick Perry [USC]

*Trade* Chicago trades 2[50] and 3[74] to New England for 1[27]

    1[27] C Peter Konz [Wisconsin]
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

That wouldn't be bad draft-wise at all but I would hope that we would spend more $ in FA than just Meacham + Royal. We outta easily be able to afford McNeill or Marshall there too. I just think Konz represents potential good value for us in the latter-1st (esp. if we trade down and net an additional 3rd). I know OC isn't an immediate need on the surface but we could secure our player there for the next decade (and a good one at that), move Garza back to RG, and release Spencer which frees up more cap space.

If you're goin' after an OG we'd be better of with Zeitler and we may not need to move up for him. He can play OC and OG and Tice likes that type. If we want Cordy Glenn v2.0 Brandon Brooks is a second round rated guy. I like Perry and if we drafted him and either Konz or better yet Zeitler I'd say that would be a good start although drafting any Olineman who isn't an OT will bring some criticism.
