Mullins: Bears Favorites to get Mario Williams
The Bears will go into the hours leading to the start of free agency considered around the league to be the favorite in the competition to sign defensive end Mario Williams away from the Houston Texans, CSNChicago.com has learned from a number of NFL sources.
As much as I would want WR help and still would like to get Robert Meachem this would be incredible.
Interesting ESPN Insider just reported a similar story.
Apparently LaConfora just said he expects that Mario will be a Bear.

We'll if we really are pursuing him...then I'm going to start singing a different tune and get excited about the awesome possibilities of this move. I like Emery's background and I'm in his corner so if he sees this as a must move, then I'm with him!

No...4:00 PM ET tomorrow.
I really, really think we need some vet WR help in FA, but frankly, I have to be honest that the fear this move would generate in the eyes of opposing QB's would be worth the price. I hope that there is enough money left over to get some of that WR help also, but I really don't think there would be. However in Emery AND Cliff Stein I trust. If anyone can massage the numbers to make it work, it's Stein.

I find everyone to be blowing the O slightly out of proportion, yes we need help, but we are not as desperate as everyone claims!
We had the 9th overall Rated Rushing O, with Barber making boneheaded plays, and Forte being out for the end of the year, I see that going up,
26th Rated Pass O, which I admit needs help, but thats with Cutler being out! With Martz finally gone, and A simpler offense WITH audiables at the line. Dont forget even as shitty as it was, we were better than Playoff teams San Francisco and Denver!
Bennett coming back full strength and Cutler being good, with a better OL makes it better I think 15+ is within the realm of possiibility, WITHOUT major changes.
I would Love to see a revamp of the D honestly, Williams and in a dream scenario Carr from the Chiefs, with the Draft Landing us Dre Kirkpatrick, our D is restocked for years to come, which extends the window for the GM to build the offense into his vision!
Edit: Im not trying to attack anyone, just my thoughts on the matter!
