I don't like the "we need a vet" idea. No good veteran qb has a vet backup. They grow and mentor youth behind them.

well we tried the youth route with Hanie, and it didnt really work. I see this more as "if Cutler goes down, we have a capable backup that could at least carry us til Cutler gets better."
Last year was a damn shock to the system...we were primed for a Playoff run, Cutler AND Forte were expected to be back by then, we only needed to win a couple more games to get into the playoffs, but we couldnt even do that. So, a move like this would esnure that we have the talent necessary to carry us a couple games at least if need be so we dont repeat 2011

Interesting I would have thought Campbell would be more interested in going somewhere to fight for the chance to start in order to prove the Raiders wrong. Money to just sit talks though.
