I am glad we are keeping McClown the guy did a good job well at least far better then our #2 guy did last year
Thread should have said McCown is Back and He Wants His F'n Number
hey now!
hey now!
But Cutty's got his wide receiver back!
THis is a horrid thing, ONLY b/c of Cutlers injury last year am I okay w/the Cambell thing...but you need a young qb developing..not McClown, who shouldn't have been on the team to begin with.
Now when you have a FRANCHISE QB, you shouldn't even need a vet backup. Farve, nope, Manning, nope, Brady, nope, Schaub(only if you think Lienhart was a vet). Farve had Rodgers, Who's Eli or Ryan's backup?
We sure to hell don't need 3 vet qb's on this team...2 behind an established franchise qb.
Perhaps because Enderle blows and is PS material only this year?
Just because we signed him doesn't mean he'll make the final roster. He may end up the QB for the Scout Team all year long and inactive on Sunday as long as Cutler and Campbell stay healthy. I didn't see what we gave him as far as a contract goes but Hanie got $1.2 mil last year to be totally ineffective when we needed him. A vet minimum is even less.
My guess is that they aren't to awfully high on Enderle being anywhere near being able to play at an NFL level. He was Martz handpicked guy and I doubt he fits an offense that requires some mobility at the QB spot. We'll bring at least one more guy to camp anyway either a draftee or a UDFA so who knows what we do by the time the season starts.
If McCown is no more costly than Hanie was it's not a whole lot to put out and you can cut him whenever it makes no sense to keep him.
