I have no idea how this will all turn out but I have my suspicions and I hope for our sake they're wrong.

Trouble follows Brandon Marshall like that raincloud that followed Joe Btfsplk in the L'il Abner comics or the dust cloud that is attached to Pig Pen in Peanuts. I have yet to meet an individual with a BPD who doesn't have commotion and disarray in their lives. Legal issues are usually just one step behind them and so it would seem with Brandon Marshall.

I'm not unhappy with the trade. Two third round picks, the one next year about the equivalent of a 4th or 5th this year) and a situation where we could release him anytime without penalty is a small price to pay for a guy who roles up 1000 yard plus seasons like he does. But like a NASCAR pileup the caution flag is out and it will be as long as he's with the Bears.

    Just sayin'.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

The only question is how many games.
Why would the NFL suspend him anyway? It's not the first time a player is accused of being in a club melee. Isn't a fine enough?

Sometimes .... there's that one person that a guy like Marshall responds to. IF Cut is that guy, then hopefully things will settle down enough for him that his time as a Bear will be eventful only for TD passes. Maybe a solid man like Lovie will help in this dept also.

I'd say new team clean slate.... but we all know that the assinine media in this town won't leave it there. It'll be one of the first things they'll talk about when camp opens, and they'll bring it up with him time and time again ( like it's their business ). He doesn't get a clean slate - he get's a slate and that's it . There's bound to be a few bumps but hopefully they'll be small ones.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?

    A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

Has nothing to do with giving him the benefit of the doubt, the NFL does not suspend players based merely on accusations or their "troubled past." If thats all it took, all you would need is for some chick to accuse a starting QB of something a week before the Superbowl, and bam...no more QB for that SB.

Not a first offense, striking a female....

The NFL would not be investigating if there wasn't cause for a suspension.

So worse case scenario I wouldnt feel bad about losing draft picks Im so used to it from the past ten years under JA lol

Soul what price is worth it for Royal? Skins supposedly offered him 2 years 12 mil isnt that a bit much? or is it a number they threw out in the media to scare teams off him?

and I agree about Forte. Bush isnt backup quality he is starter quality and proved it last year for the Raiders. He would have been a 2 round pick if he didnt break his leg so people not thinking he is starting material cause of draft status are wrong. Now if we are serious about signing this guy does that open up the door to trade Forte? And what teams would give him a deal that have picks to lose? Im thinking Cleveland and Cinci both have holes at RB and have multiple first rounders so they can afford to lose picks in a trade. And Patriots if for once want to splurge on rb
Don't know mo. If he did turn that down then I think he thinks more of himself than most teams do. Maybe he's looking for a longer term deal with some guarantees I'm not sure. He has enough talent that I wouldn't be hesitant to offer him a 4 year deal for around $20 mil with a decent upfront bonus. Anymore than that and you make those $$$ incentive based. The trouble is with Marshall and Bennett as #1 and #2 he doesn't stand much chance of having a 1000 yard season unless one of them can't play.

You and I agree 100% on the Marshall trade. Cheap enough to take a risk and cuttable anytime too much trouble arises and except for his $9 mil price tag we couldn't have done better for a guy with his talent.

Cleveland and Cincy would probably be interested in Forte. I'd keep the phone lines open come draft day and if a good enough offer came along I'd sure be tempted to make him somebody else's problem. Marshall adds an element to the offense we were lacking in and he'll make Bennett even more productive. Emery is looking to accumulate some added offensive weapons and Forte and his agent should be paying some attention to that.

Which equates to him telling his side of the story to the commish.

You honestly expect him to get suspended after this meeting? BEFORE the actual case gets settled in court? You know thats a recipe for disaster, yes?

Hasn't that happened in the past? Players suspended before being found guilty in a court of law?
