Would you do it??
1. Trade Forte to free up some Cap for a Top20 pick if possible
2. Sign Bush and go with him and Bell - and Tolbert if possible and if it works with the Cap
3. sign Jason Jones or Desmond Bryant as DT for rotation with Toe, Paea and Melton
4. Sign Royal or Manningham
5. bring back Izzy for rotation
6. Draft a DE and OL player with the 2x 1sts, a WR with the 2nd
would you do it?

No. I would not trade Forte. Bush isn't even close Forte, they are not "similar". One is a top 5-7 back, the other couldn't hope to be there on his best day.
One was 40% of our O over the past few seasons w/no WR threat and no OL capable of opening consistant wholes, one was relegated to the bench 1yr after being brought in by his team.
I would sign Forte to a contract that is consistant w/what other RB's are getting paid at his level.

1. It seems like this is going to Matt Forte's breakout year wherever he ends up, I'd like that to be here so a nix to the trade ideas for me.
2. If Bush can be had for a little more than backup RB money, sign him up!
3. We need a DE opposite Pep....I think Paea and Okoye are going to have a good year.
4. Sounds good to me.
5. Ditto
6. I say we fill up on free agency so we can draft BPA. You would hate to miss out on a real star because you needed to fill a hole.
But what do I know....this is why Emery is getting the big $$$.....

Why on earth would you trade 50% of your offense?

Bush is more then adequate replacement
And I wouldn't even consider this if it wasn't for the bitch move he pulled when he didn't play when he could have but he would risk the injury in the probowl

Bell is a good back (ive been an allen fan since his ND days too)
Now i think a move like this deserves a thought glad this came up
Hard to say because you have to weigh what he is going go want as far as money and what you could get in return for him
Forte is good but overated product of a system guy (still above average but not "elite") so the real question is what you could get back
Top 20 pick
Top 10?
Combo of high picks?
some intriguing player?
And if they went for pick(s) who would they draft to comp themselves:
Richerdson(replace forte much cheaper)
Blackmon? (with some luck cutty would have a horrifying group of wideouts)
Clayborn?
Kuchley?
And many others worth noting
I think his value is iinflated but maybe his breakout year will be this year it would be a huge burn or emery would look like a genious in a few years
All and all i think you keep the tag on him this year and see what happens just no way do you give him a top teir contract just yet

I'd trade him for a top ten pick. He's worth that, but not his drama bags.

because he was the only talent on offense (next to Cutty) that is worth his starting spot. You don't need elite RBs to win the SB. The last elite RB to win the SB was Faulk.
And Fortes #s came down as soon as Cutty was out. Don't come to me and tell me about only guy and Martz and Hanie... look at what Foster did without his #1 QB and without others.
+ Forte does not have many TDs compared to the others.
I'm not saying trade him. I say that we should bring in a lot of depth and help EVERYWHERE on the Roster. Better Pass rush, better WR talent, better OLine. All that for little less RB Talent.

I want to keep Forte but only if he's gonna PLAY. If he's pissed off, refuses a reasonable offer, and plans to stage a holdout drama, then trade his ass for picks before the draft and get some value out of it.
Stop dragging this out. Make him a fair offer for a top RB (~ 18-22 million guaranteed) and say "take it or a trade". Just dont go into the summer with a holdout controversy going on. That's the worst of both worlds -- no Forte and no compensation for him.
