Phil's Reputation over Brandon Marshall

Exactly why he came for the paltry price of two thirds.

Yeah, I guess I don't see it as his rep on the line. This is essentially a low risk, high reward situation. If he had paid out the wazoo or handed over a first round pick, etc., then I could see it. But, if Marshall turns out to be a bust in Chicago it's not like we lost a whole lot. I don't see him as much more of a risk than any other FA receiver that has been signed and we got it done for a LOT less.

Yeah, that was pretty much his mindset im willing to bet. So its a smart move, and only time will tell if it pays off or not, but in any case, we didnt lose much to make the move.

Well if this doesn't work out we can fall back on Roy Williams.

The guy is a Pro Bowler sheesh. If he steers clear of the garbage we're fine. Leave it to the media to pounce on something and blow it way out of proportion.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

+1 to both of you. Strictly from a business standpoint he is a low risk pick. On the field he creates just as much mayhem as off it. Despite all of his entanglements he's still very productive even playing with QB's who can't hold a candle to Cutler's abilities. I don't see him being any less productive here than anywhere else he's been.
A couple of 3rd, one delayed a year, for a guy who's every bit the equal of any top #1 in the NFL. Cheap acquisition and nothing really wasted if we even get one decent year out of him. Having him and Bennett running patterns and Davis and Forte (we hope) as alternates is gonna make teams pay attention to our passing game for the first time in forever.
No big bonus upfront, no guarantees, and earn as you go contract. You can't get talent like him with any less risk that that. If he gets suspended he doesn't get paid but if we're lucky we'll avoid that. VJax is closer to a 3rd strike than Marshall. I can't say it was a bad move but I can say that we might as well get ready for some craziness. It just follows him around like night follows day and it's not gonna stop just because he got here.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Yeah, and to those "talking head" Bears haters I ask this ........... Was he arrested for this incident ? ANS: NO ! Has he been charged with anything stemming from this ? ANS: NO ! And finally ............ Who reported this in the first place ? ANS: The "Tabloid" N.Y. Post which is one of the LEAST CREDIBLE sources out there. NUFF SAID !

And, if I want to day dream I boost it with the thought the Marshall has NEVER played with a QB as good as the current Cutler. The best he's seen so far was the wet-behind-the-ears (but still very good) Cutler. oh my. ... A good time of the football calender for dreams.

Just read an article about the accuser wanting Marshall held accountable. Then read that the police were never called and she's "in-between jobs". More and more I'm thinking she's just looking for a payday and it was just bad timing for Marshall.
