If we don't find anyone else you'd best keep Sanz unless Weems beats him out. Someone needs to play in the slot and it probably comes down to those two and Hester. Royal wants to much and if Sanz gets over his dropsies he's a good slot guy.

The other holes are pretty evident. We need two more Dlineman and another CB. Some depth at OT either from within or outside help. Bring Steltz back at SS and draft another. It's pretty obvious we have some holes to fill which is why I have been a little "antsy" as BDM calls it to see a few more gaps filled in.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Soul, I am in the same boat I am getting uncomfortable with the number of needs that we still have.

    1. DE [Starting LE]
    2. CB [Competition at the #2]
    3. WR [#2/#3 guy]
    4. OT [Competition for Webb]
    5. DE [Backup LE] Idonije
    6. LB [Depth and Developmental WLB]
    7. OG/C [Developmental Player for next season]
    8. DT [Backup]
    9. S [Depth behind Conte, Wright] Steltz
    10. TE [Developmental Player]

We need more than just depth behind Conte and Wright. Wright is inconsistent and Conte is just a huge disappointment.

I thought Conte did great and for a third rounder met and exceeded my expectations. I think he has potential to be a quality starter for us. If he held onto half of the interceptions that hit him in the hands he probably woulda led the league in picks.

I'm w/you on Wright LB but I think Conte shows much promise. I wouldn't mind a SS in the 3nd round. If we land Wembley I'd like to see:

    1-WR Hill
    2-OG Ziet
    3-SS
    4-7 BPA

Also which 3rd rounder did we trade ours or the Kitties we got for Olsen?

Okay, maybe I kinda overreacted. Conte is not a huge disppointment but there are more talented safeties in the draft imo.

I think Barron and Harrison would be solid pick-ups but with so many other holes to fill I don't know if we're going to be able to land them. Conte at free safety and Harrison at strong safety would be badass.

I'll go in reverse order Windy.

    10. We've got two 2nd year guys to look over and I'm sure we'll sign one as an UDFA. Smith should be able to bump Spaeth out this summer. He's that good. Adams impressed the hell out of the coaches last year but I didn't see all that much. Tice uses an HBack in his offense and Adams may be a good prospect for that but he's not an inline blocker. We'll have at least one more in the hunt come camp.

    9) Re-sign Steltz first of all and we have some experiences depth and good ST guy. Walters showed some promise but we need more bodies. Don't think there's much affordable in FA and the draft isn't well stocked with them either. So we may draft one late and sign some UDFA. One guy I wouldn't mind seeing us draft is the kid from Notre Dame, Harrison Smith. We need to see how we come out of FA though. It seems to me that we have a lot of positions vying for the 2nd round pick (SS, LB, CB, WR, OG) and we can only take one. We also traded away one of our thirds so to me that says we need to fill one more of those positions in FA.

    8) Depends on what we do with Okoye. We have another DT on the roster but I don't know if he's a NT or an UT. If Okoye doesn't re-sign we need to replace him with another UT type and that's where Fletcher Cox's name comes up in the draft. He may be a safer pick than Mercilus or Perry. He's big and quick enough to play DE as well as UT.

    7) That's one of the positions we could spend anywhere from a second to a fourth rounder on.

    6) Hawthorne would be nice here.

    5) Chauncey Davis wasn't horrible and we may bring Izzy back if we don't sign a DE in FA.

    4) Good Luck. Draft one in the middle rounds and let him compete. The guy couldn't possibly be worse than OMG and maybe not all that much worse than Webb if he doesn't improve.

    3) Bennett is your #2 if they'll move him out to Flanker. In the slot you have Sanz, Weems and Hester and Knox on the outside probably splitting some snaps with Bennett and giving Marshall an occasional blow. We should draft a WR and once again which pick do you use, 2nd, 3rd, 4th???? May still be lots of competition for those picks between two or more positions.

    2) Hayden if we can, maybe draft or Porter if we can't.

    1) Unless we find one yet in FA he's our first round pick. I'd bet my Bears Bucks on it.

That's just the way I see it. Others may approach it differently and Emery may be far different yet.
