I honestly would be very intrigued in grabbing Hill. Now that we have Marshall its not like Hill would have to be our number 1 and he has all the tools to develop into something very special. If there were no pass rushers around worth taking at 19 and Hill was on the board I'm not sure I'd be against it. We need to address the pass rush but if we were to say add Wimbley (who I am not sold on at all mind you) I think the Bears might consider Hill.. given the right circumstance.

I'm wondering what round the Bears will target WR now that Marshall is on the team.
I think his size is in his favor. He's as big as Brandon Marshall but with TE speed. If he can't get separation in the NFL all you can do with him is throw jump balls and fades down inside the 10 yard line or so. At least that's my take on the concerns mentioned in his scouting report and post Combine comments. There was that same concern with Floyd but he ran sub 4.6 40's but Jeffery did not. Two similar size guys. One shoots up the boards ans the other falls. Even if he improved at his pro day it may not be nearly enough to offset the other disappointments.

Sounds like the Bears have no interest in Wimbley so it looks like the first round pick will be a DE. One reason I wanted so badly to get a DE in FA is that it free up that number one pick to go in any one of a number of ways and much easier to disguise our intentions. So fuck Buffalo and fuck Tom Condon and his horse too.

You know that happens with Hill. He falls to late in the first and the GD Packers or Patriots will draft him because they don't have an immediate need and they can let him develop. It also doesn't hurt to have two of the best QB's in football throwing to you either. Now I'm even more pissed about the MWill deal. We got hosed on that one.

Well Jeffery didn't end up running the 40 so his 40 at the Pro Day will be his first, right? I'm interested in his shuttle and 40 to see how he does, would rather it was at a neutral location because Pro Day stats are always better.

As far as the MWill thing that really sucks because like you said now it's obvious where we're going with the draft, at least the first round. While Emery is sneaky it's obvious we need pass rush help. I also think it's gonna be Mercilus just because of all the interest we showed in him already, unless Emery decides he likes Perry better. I wonder if Emery is a guy who would trade up or down, like I wonder if we're sitting tight where we are or if there's a guy he likes in the top of the second he'd go up after him.

I know everyones hot on Hill but realistically there's very little chance of drafting a WR in 1 now. That shipped sailed when we tried and failed to add a passrusher in FA. That was the beauty in getting Mario if it happened--would have been Mario + Marshall right out of the gate then move straight to the draft with a ton of flexibility. Emery obviously saw that too and just barely missed. It's all but assured that we have to go DE in 1 now.

Thanks to whoever posted the UW pro day report. Zeitler sounds tailor made for our #50 pick and I hope he makes it there. All the more important to add to our OL if reports about CWill moving to OT to compete with Webb are true (hope there are--makes a ton of sense and we need a swing OT).

I see waiting till #74 for another WR and guys like Jones, McNutt, & Toon look like good options there.

I wonder if the Bears are only after bigger WR's or if players like Joe Adams and Devon Wylie are on their radar as well.

Seems to me we are ok for the slot (Sanz, Hester, Weems) but need another flanker considering Knox's medical situation. I'd rather go after a big WR than a pure-speed guy.

Eye On Sports - CBSSports.com ASU Pro Day: Burfict struggles (again); Osweiler to throw 3/30

ASU Pro Day: Burfict struggles (again); Osweiler to throw 3/30

By Rob Rang | The Sports Xchange/CBSSports.com

Scouts on hand for Arizona State's Pro Day workout Friday were greeted with the news that arguably the highest profile player -- quarterback Brock Osweiler --wouldn't be working out. That fact didn't stop a few Sun Devils from turning the heads of scouts.

While scouts were disappointed that Osweiler worked out Friday, cornerback Omar Bolden helped prove to scouts that he's recovering from the torn ACL that sidelined him for the entire 2011 season.

The 5-10, 202 pound Bolden told reporters following the workout that he was timed at 4.45 seconds in the 40-yard dash. This number circulated through the internet yesterday. In reality, scouts clocked him in the midto high 4.5s.

Boldin also participated in the three cone (6.91) and short shuttle (4.61) drills. While these aren't very good times, Bolden's game tapeprior to the injury is strong enough that some team might be willing to invest amiddle round pick onBolden's burst and acceleration returning fully with more time. The ASU cornerbackhas already scheduled private workouts with the New England Patriots, New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles.

Burfict participated in some of the shuttle drills and leaps but surprised scouts with his unwillingness to run the 40-yard dash. Burfict ran in this drill at the Combine. His workout in Indianapolis, however, was terrible. The 6-1, 248 pound linebacker, who had been characterized as a possible first round candidate by some, was clocked at 5.08 seconds in the 40-yard dash. That's not only slowest among all Combine linebackers, it is also slower than 36 of the 48 defensive linemen tested in Indianapolis this year.

The results weren't any better Friday.Burfictwas clocked at 4.65 seconds in the short-shuttle, for example. That too would have ranked dead last among linebackers tested in Indianapolis, and folks, itisn't even close. Of the 21 linebackers tested in Indianapolis in thisdrill, North Carolina State's Terrell Manning was the slowest-- and he was at 4.43 seconds.

Another example of Burfict's struggles cameduring the bench press drill. For a player whosebest asset on tape has been occasional examples of explosiveness, Burfict proved surprisingly weak Friday, lifting the bar just 16 times. That, by comparison, is better than only two of the 29 linebackers who tested in this event in Indianapolis this year.

Center Garth Gerhart on the other hand, who also was invited to the Combine, significantly boosted his total in the bench press Friday. Gerhart had 25 repetitions of 225 pounds in Indianapolis but improved to 33 today.

QuarterbackBrock Osweilerandpushed offhis workout until March 30. Osweiler had been unable to perform at the Combine a few weeks ago due to an sprained foot suffered during ASU's bowl loss to Boise State in the Las Vegas Bowl.

Because Osweiler was unable to throw for scouts, former ASU quarterbackRudy Carpenterwas brought in to throw to the Sun Devil receivers, includingGerell RobinsonandAaron Pflugrad.

Lovie Smith looking at West Virginia DE Bruce Irvin

Prospect Irvin also would bring baggage to Bears - chicagotribune.com

He would be an interesting compliment to Izzy if we do not go DE in the 1st round. He us a pure speed guy that could do what Mark Anderson did in the Superbowl year.

I know nothing about this guy (or any other college player for that matter lol), but I'd really like to see them grab someone who isn't just going to be a situation player, but someone who is more likely to be an every down type of DE. Whether that's Perry, Mercilus, etc. With him sounding like a situational guy and with the "baggage", I don't know if I like the sound of him. What round would he be projected to go in?
